IMHO, RN does have the "potential" to start at center sometime next year but not
likely at the beginning. He has lots of offensive skills outside AND in plus size and
wing span. Lets see how much muscle he puts on and signs of improvement
defensively. Personally, I think it will be a lot easier for him to make significant strides
defensively than BW will be able to do offensively. I expect BOTH to be valuable assets
next season, especially with SM's limited number of minutes due to fouls and inconsistency.
All other team components are solidly in place. I think RH, TG, and CH are well aware of
        their possibilities here and elsewhere.

I think part of SM development is hopefully reduce the fouls and continue to improve conditioning. Nurger needs to improve his defensive technique get stronger and increase his desire to bang. I think all of this is possible.

I really thought RH would get a breakaway dunk sometime this season. I was looking forward to a loud roar at CKA. Seems he became more and more tentative as the year wore on.

Nope, I didn't look for it in the book. I know it's getting more and more iffy for me to rely on memory, but that was what I understood was the situation. A head coach has the option of taking a scholarship or paying for his son's way. This sort of helps the answer.

                Even a little clearer.

That's not true. Brady Morningstar gave up his scholarship one year to open a scholly for a high profile recruit at KU just a few years ago.

I always understood the rule to mean you counted against the limit if you received a nonathletic scholarship but had at one point in time received an athletic scholarship or been recruited in some way or another. I definitely might not know the specifics, though. The way I understood it, you could walk-on and not count against the limit if you received no assistance.

It would sure fix a lot of things if Evan and Ron walk on for some reason. I really don't think Frankamp is getting a scholarship. He likely worked his way out of one to begin with by transferring late (with only a partial season of eligibility) and then made it a no brainer with the event in January. With a good season next year, he will earn one for his junior season I suppose.

My question would be IF Ron and Evan do that, does anyone think our roster will stay the same then? Or would there still be another move involving a transfer and a hot recruit or Juco coming in?

And if they DON'T do that, some people are leaving, right?

I don't think either will do that.

Bet your bottom dollar that the recruiting for this year is not over...we need help in the post if Marshall wants to make a legitimate run with Baker & Van Vleet

This is exactly what I think. I'm just trying to wrap my mind around the variables involved.

And I really think we can land an awesome one this off-season in particular because the starting role is very much up for grabs on a really good team.

That help in the post had to be found last year. It's a little late this year.

Marshall was looking long and hard this time of the year last year. He pretty much went after every big on the planet that wasn't locked up. He ended up with BWam and Glass. Then got Nurger on a fluke situation very late.

About the only way to get a legitimate big who can be expected to have anything but a development year next year is if some 5-star one-and-done guy decommits and Marshall can sign him.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
