Don't see many misses. I don't believe there were many of you believing we would reach the
S16. TG, RH, CH are all good looking players but they play for WSU behind better guys. That
situation will only get tougher for them next year. BW really came on late defensively and with
another 10-15 pounds of muscle should give us a really good defensive option next year. ZB
is an athlete with very good potential at both ends of the court. GM has said that RN will be
a stronger improved player and I believe him. SM will be out of DC's shadow and ready to give
us 16-20 minutes of quality center play. We have a great recruiting class coming in. We kept
our coach and beat KU. A lot more hits than misses and a great future ! Lets not obsess with
misses and focus on successes !

@asiseeit:, that's a good reminder. We made the sweet sixteen and these guys were a part of that team. Even if some guys didn't look amazing, they are gaining experience on a team that wins. They are also freshman and I fall victim to immediately setting some kind of unrealistic bar based on Toure, Cle, Fred, Ron, Tekele, etc. Expecting any freshman to be these guys is not smart. It doesn't necessarily mean anyone is a bust just because they aren't able to hang with legends as freshman.

not pan out as I expect but I watched him closely this season as I wanted him to succeed.
Most noticed from the get go he can shoot from the perimeter. I think that is a given. He rarely
posted up, wasn't asked to in our offense, but the few times he did he showed remarkably good
moves right AND left with the left hand. He has taken a lot of criticism defensively but I thought
he moved his feet pretty darn well for his size and was charged with a lot of tickytac fouls. If
he gains 15-20 pounds of muscle I think you are going to see a very good post up player by
mid season next year and an improved defensive player. For BW to be a valuable asset all he
needs to do is add 10-15 pounds of muscle and a little more aggressiveness. I think we will
be pretty well set at center but, of course, if a 4/5 star center is available we should certainly
grab him.Dominance is a state of mind.

I expect all of the Freshmen (who are still here next year) to show substantial improvement.
Brown was already playing at a level where he doesn't need improvement to be a big contributor, but I expect he will make substantial progress. His injury kept him from showing what he could do for a while. We already have FredEx. Now we've got "What can Brown do for you". Would be nice to have a "mailman" to go along with that group.
Kelly could be that "mailman". None of us saw Early as a Fr. We can't say whether he would have looked better than Kelly in his first year out of HS. Yoiu've got to remember, Kelly was trying to transition from HS to D1 playing with VanVleet, Baker, and Cotton. Those guys can makle things happen very quickly. That can be hard to adjust to.
Nurger needs 20 pounds of muscle and 100 pounds of tough. But, imagine Stutz trying to break in (as a Fr) on a top-10 team. I think Rosenboom can do a lot with Nuirger. A summer of playing against Morris (banging inside) and Kelly (quick and athletic) could do wonders for Nurger's game.
I almost forgot about Morris, because he didn't look like a Fr by the end of the year. Morris was more firmly entrenched in Marshall's doghouse than Durley - and that's saying something. Morris made a huge turnaround and actually started looking like a "hustle" guy. I think that as he sees what success he can have, he will become dedicated to upping his conditioning, performance, and strength. Next year we could start seeing signs of a 6'7", 270 hustle guy who's pretty athletic and has some hustle and quickness in his game.Last edited by Aargh; April 5, 2015, 11:24 AM.The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

^^^^ That is exactly what I wanted to say but didn't want to type all of those words. One quick note before we present the rankings: With Wichita State’s move to the American Athletic Conference, the Shockers have moved out of the mid-major club. We wish the Shockers well against Cincinnati, UConn, SMU, and more.
