No doubt ADES and Pres. Bardo played their role keeping GM here. However, I'd be willing to bet dollars to pesos that his family played a MAJOR role along with the unidentified individuals who bankrolled the salary increase. To all of you, I say thank you

            Seriously, that was sooooooooo clutch.
Well, he went to a guy, who has $42 billion dollars and asked for a donation.

Assume that the donor agreed to donate $1 million dollars per year for 7 years.

For perspective, the donor could spend $1 million dollars per year for 1,000 years and he would have only spent $1 billion dollars of his beginning $42 billion dollars.

President Bardo is a visionary and a big thinker; one of my friends took classes from him when he was a professor at WSU and she says that he was a dynamic educator. We have a great university president and an awesome basketball coach; the sky's the limit!

I really am pleased with Sexton and Bardo on so many levels. Really excited about the direction of the University and wouldn't be surprised if we become the state "flagship" university in the next 7 to 10 years.

I was thinking along the lines of Regional Flagship. That has a nice ring to it.

We need to rename it. "I graduated from Midwest Institute of Technology with a Master of Science in Astrochemlectrical Engineering with an Emphasis in Basketbology."

Kung Wu, IMO President Bardo's long range plan for WSU is to elevate the academic standing of our university to such a level that the Kansas Board of Regents endorses a name change to Kansas Institute of Technology with five separate colleges:

                          1. Arts (Fine Arts and Music)

                          2. Engineering

                          3. Management (Business and Entrepreneurship)

                          4. Humanities (Liberal Arts and Social Sciences)

                          5. Sciences (Hard sciences to include Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, etc)

Given Bardo's age (66) I am not confident he can accomplish this goal prior to the Kansas Board of Regents forcing his mandatory retirement.

Nice. But I think his vision is so grand that the Board of Regents equivalents in Nebraska, Oklahoma, Missouri, Colorado, Arkansas, etc need to chip in and fund this rocket ship. Kansas is too small for where this university is headed.

Whoa! United States Institute of Technology - U-SIT!

And why does Bardo not have

                            6. Basketbology (Skills, Tactics, Kinesiology, Weight Lifting, Media Relations, Kicking Ass, etc)

Listed as a 6th college? We already employ the "Professor", capable of practically guaranteeing our most exalted students will get full experiential credit in Sweet 16 Travel Planning, Sweet 16 Operations, and NCAA Media Relations for Big Dogs.

So long as you don't call it the United States Hierarchical Institute of Technology.

Battle couldn't "sell" his product to HCGM (and family) at any price. Sexton knew his buyer and showed his "customer" tremendous loyalty. He's a closer.

I think Marshall's a better coach than Shaka Smart, but I'd take Smart over Avery Johnson any day. Texas still came out ahead of 'Bama.
