I don't mean this as a slight to Sexton, but ultimately the salesman is only as good as the product he has to sell. He had an unrivaled product to peddle on this one.

How good of a salesman were Battle or Patterson? Patterson has a hell of a product and a willing buyer and never even took his nose out of his newspaper to ask "may I help you?"

Battle couldn't "sell" his product to HCGM (and family) at any price. Sexton knew his buyer and showed his "customer" tremendous loyalty. He's a closer.

LOL I've disagreed with value, but Fev often wants others to eat crow when it's deserved - which I promote as well. It may be deserved here. There are PLENTY of issues with the department, but this is Sexton's number one priority, and he had done a brilliant job.

ADES is not perfect. Neither was ADJS. Neither of them ever will be. They are totally different personalities with different styles and different strengths. At the very least we can accept ADES for who he is and not expect him to be who he is not. I would have to say that so far ADES has outperformed my expectations and I think he is definitely growing into the job. Remember he was a total newbie to the AD game. Maybe President Beggs new what he was doing after all.

Jim Schaus built a strong foundation. So far Eric Sexton has done a good job maintaining and improving the property.
