Offseason Thread: 2015 Edition

I have an unrelated question that I've been thinking about a little bit off and on for a couple weeks. I remember reading somewhere that there wouldn't be much of a recruiting class for 2017, because the only people graduating will be walk-ons. Thus the question...if 3G isn't able to land all the player(s) he wants from the class of 2016, but has a good feeling about a player or two from 2017, is there ever any chance he may decide to reward a walk-on or two with scholarships for their senior years, so that those scholarships will be available for 2017? Other than the obvious benefit of using your scholarships on the best possible players, is there anything else that would keep this from happening?

I wouldn't be overly concerned. You have the 4 incoming freshman plus Allen who will be sophomores next year. Three remaining scholarships for freshmen next year. If everybody stays, you still have 8 underclassmen which is plenty.

All it means is one year of a slow recruiting forum.

I'm not overly concerned. I have full trust in 3G and his staff to do what needs to be done. I'm just wondering if it's something that could/would be considered. More of a wonder about the possibilities of what may happen if 3G decided to do something like that.

The first political thing I saw in this thread was from you. I agree with Play Angry that we should not derail threads in the basketball forum with political talk, regardless of the viewpoint. You should chill and not try to act like a victim here. Besides, there's vast reaches of the internet where if you say anything negative about Obama, you're automatically racist.

We're here to talk about Shocker basketball, right? Let's keep it that way and keep it light. Save the scathing political commentary for the company of your friends who agree with you, like my buddy and I do :)

Pie wouldn't know a good idea if it walked up and kicked him in the shin, so don't bother trying to educate him -- just put him on Ignore, as I've now done. I just wish I could put the regime in Washington on Ignore as easily.

We could adjust this some now and be more accurate than this will be at the end of the Season when it counts? First of all, move WSU to the top 4 and move KU to around 7-10th. Yes, our quality depth and veteran experienced team gives us a great shot at this. KU has the talent to make the Final 4 but I predict they won't make it this Season. Year in and year out they over rank KU in the Preseason, especially the last 3 Seasons. Next, move Iowa State to somewhere between 11-20th. They have impressive talent returning but now have a new coach who needs time to get settled in. Also, we are told every Season how great the Big 12 is supposed to be, but not so much evidence substantiates that come deep Dance time. Maybe a team such as Louisville can crack the top 10 instead? Maybe we could consider dropping North Carolina and Maryland to between 6th and 10th and move some other teams up. Let me try something here for Pre-Season picks.
