Oubre's shooting percentage is irrelevant, and his quote is both honest and accurate. If anything, watching film would convince the viewer just how unlikely Wessel's performance was.
Let's celebrate what Wessel did (step up in a big moment) instead of making up criticisms of others that just don't make any sense.
As @Cdizzle: stated, a little more time "awake" in film session would have shown that Evan had a 5 game run late in the season that produced the following numbers:
5 straight games, 10-25 (.400) from the 3 (including games of 5, 6, and 6 shots), 4 of those games hitting 9-20 (.450), averaging almost 10 ppg, and three games of 11, 11, and 12 points. Nothing surprising about taking 6 3s, making a high %, or scoring 12 points. My complaints about Evan in the past was his lack of involvement in the offense as a threat, whether it was by coach's design or just Evan. I've also stated that when Evan is being a threat on offense, good things happen for the Shocks.

Ellis appeared to be just holding his ground. The elbow to the nose was just unfortunate due mainly to the extreme height differential of the two players. That's how I saw it.

I can see why they've been avoiding us. They knew they were gonna lose and suffer the consequences.
Thank you NCAA.Deuces Valley.

Despite what is said by the announcers (Webber I believe), Ellis did not always have his arms up straight and Ellis never established position. Ellis was still moving to the side as FVV started his jump, as FVV started up Ellis's arms were not straight up and only when Ellis bodied Fred did this arms go straight up, and after the contact, Ellis continued to go side ways (not straight back) in the direction his initial movement was taking him.
This is around the 5:50 mark of the first half. If any one knows how to do a clip of the play and run it in slow motion, I think it will be very obvious.Last edited by ShockTalk; March 24, 2015, 05:22 PM.
