After perusing a post-game thread on an IU board, it sounds like Crean and one of his assistants verbally expressed their displeasure with the officiating to the refs as they left the floor.
WSU drove and attacked. IU settled for jump shots.
Boohoo Tom.
Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

Dan Dickish on ESPN just said something close to this; "be careful what you wish for Wichita State fans, KU wins in a double digit blow-out shutting up WSU fans once and for all." Yep, he's a Dick. Also said Indiana needs to terminate Crean;they should never lose to Wichita State. Wow! Wish that segment could be played in the WSU lockerroom prior to Sunday's game.
He is a baby. Didn't be say IU got a great draw for the tournament? Be careful what YOU wish for.
Q. Yogi, physical game out there and I know the Big Ten is a rough-and-tumble league, but how does Wichita State compare with those teams you faced? Are they any more physical than what you guys saw during the year? TROY WILLIAMS: Yeah, like we said before coming into this game, they reminded us of Michigan State in our league. They go to the boards hard; they play very physical, they help really strong on defense at the elbow and that’s who they mostly resemble. COLLIN HARTMAN: They’re a very strong team, very athletic. They’re great, they’re old; they’re skilled and they’re relentless on the boards. So that’s the team that they do remind us of. THE MODERATOR: Tom, did you want to contribute on that question?
TOM CREAN: I’m fine, thank you.

Yup. Same issue we had in the IlSt game, IMO. If a crew is going to call contact going to the rim, then go to the rim and take the call. We didn't against IlSt, we did in this one. They consistently took jumpers.

Didn't go upstairs but lots of good seats in the house, including the one I picked up late for a shade over face value. It would appear Creighton fans sole source of income is from scalping tickets. Not terribly impressed with the look of the Clink. Kind of crappy actually...BUT, no pat down, easy and quick entry into the arena, tremendous concession selection at incredibly reasonable prices compared to...well everywhere. If they can offer all those choices, why can't more places? SO much better than St Louis, for just one example, it's not even funny.
Visited with several CU fans, mostly my age and older. Excellent folks. Casual fans honestly. Probably mostly NU football fans and I don't say that in a negative way, it's just the way it is.
KU fans...they are numerous and will out number WSU fans 10-1 on Sunday, at least. And the VAST MAJORITY know nothing about KU....just a huge load of bandwagon fans that like saying they cheer for a winner. I sat next to 4 KU fans who left after the KU game. Replaced by 4 more KU fans...2 older folks who cheered for IU until it was supper time, about 330. The other 2, younger people that couldn't name 3 KU players without a program, cheered for IU the entire game. Good the hate is swelling now.....I actually think CU fans might cheer for WSU, but they are so darned wine and cheese I don't think it will matter.
We don't get a chance to win that game without Fred. He's unreal, unfreakingreal. I thought our halftime adjustments were super, and Gregg's timeout to run a play that got Cotton A FREAKING LAYUP (and an and 1 btw not called kick) with less than a minute left was coaching artistry.
Sometimes it's a simple game....we've lost a game or 2 with poor FT shooting...we don't win today If we shoot FTs poorly.
So proud of these guys and this program. They were dragging a bit in the first half, but they're just winners and they found a way against one of the best 6 programs of all time, that's LOADED, and played very well. 50% from 3, 80% from the line. They did what they do when they win....but this time they didn't. Imagine that.
I like Kip but I didn't think the zebras had a particularly good game, especially Kip. More than 1 headscratcher, both ways. Terrible call to send Ron to the line late, just terrible.
These guys have really been great this year and I'm thrilled it's not over. Looking forward to Sunday.
Recapping:
Lots of KU fans, many of them pricks. Our team is full of winners. IU can be scary good but our team is better. CU not nearly all bad.

The NU football ones aren't half bad because they really aren't true Creighton fans. They make up the far majority of their fanbase (if you wanna include them in it) though. The only bad ones are the 50 or so true diehard Creighton fans that actually follow the school intently. I will say fanbases seem to be more tolerable when they suck and aren't relevant. Just sayin.

That's not that surprising. KU has an unbelievable t-shirt fan representation. Probably the largest in the country. Props to them on that.
I just don't understand why they're trying to make this a rivalry all of a sudden. We're just a cute little story that has no effect on their program. We must be damn threatening to create such hostility.

Ok. I've sobered up a bit. Maybe. I love these guys. Nothing was falling. They did it right. Take the fouls. Shox need to rebound defensively. Love this team.
If we beat KU on Sunday, FVV, Baker, Cotton > AC, Aubry, X. Maybe that's a little over the top, but thd accomplishments are greater
Do it.
Go Shox.
"When life hands you lemons, make lemonade." Better have some sugar and water too, or else your lemonade will suck!
Despite all the ref hoopla, i have even more respect for IU (Which is silly considering the program's entirety), their pace was impressive! I won't be the guy, but I hope someone expressed that on their board. Will root for them next year

I heard the radio announcers on 98.7 say that crean said something directed at the refs before shaking hands post game.
@CBTonNBC: Reports: Indiana coach Tom Crean said ‘you suck’ to referee after loss to Wichita*State http://wp.me/p1aWjM-2cno
He's not wrong. They did suck. But they sucked on both ends of the court and as a coach you have to bite your tongue in that situation and take it behind closed doors.

I agree, those are his coworkers and if he continues to coach div I mens basketball he'll see them again. Why piss them off? Even if you're right, it's not going to change the out come, it'll just be harder now for that ref to give him the benefit of the doubt on the next call.
I just want to stand on land...
