Some people just don't like watching Top 15 teams play. It gets too boring for them. They have to hurry home to catch the last 30 minutes of Criminal Minds.

It just amazes me. Would people prefer 5 point nailbiters? Do they not understand where this program was 20 years ago? Do you think they're taking things for granted?

Our fanbase, from our student section to the early-leavers, is just underwhelming and embarrassing at so many levels. Whatever.

    • Worst officiated game by far this year. Zelton Steed and the tall ref were absolute garbage. I mean filthy garbage. And I'm not just talking against WSU either. They were horrible all the way around - both sides. That's unfortunately what I took away the most from this game. Just horseshit.

How are these effheads getting paid for this? They should be black-listed to the elementary church leagues.

Anyways, we dominated that game about midway through the first half and on. Our defense was pretty stellar. Our offense ran pretty smooth. We put up 74 points without a peep really from Ron Baker. Got a lot of bench guys in which was nice to see.

Carter was owning it. He looked like quite the stud out there. Probably should have gotten about 6 more points on missed foul calls alone. FVV was really feeling it in the first half. Just stroking it. Very nice to see his shot back. Cotton also looked really aggressive. He exploded several times to the hoop in the blink of an eye. His length-of-the-court block in the first half was awesome.

Sycamores have some nice pieces. They were just totally taken out of their element tonight. Credit that to WSU. Lansing is a solid coach and they'll be better in a couple of weeks and into next year. Sure didn't think we would cover the 16.5 but we did. Vegas is something else.

I don't leave early, but sometimes when we have built up a sweet, beatdown type of lead, it is actually kind of depressing watching the last few minutes tick by as that pretty margin evaporates with the JRS crew up in da house. Like building a epic snowman only to have a solar array show up in your yard.

So I sort of "get it" in a way.

I hear ya but it just would appear to be sort of deflating to the coach and players, while the final minute is counting down, there's less than 6,000 left in attendance during a live basketball game. I dunno. I mean, yes you make a good point, but I just think it looks bad. I actually kinda get up for a rare JRS perimeter swish or a Jared Walker three. It's kind of a cool moment and I think the vets also get a kick out of it.

I wonder what Marshall's take is on fans clearing out in a 20 point blowout with 4 minutes left. I think we know what the athletic department thinks with their 2 years worth of "don't leave early" videos.

I told mrs p that I couldn't blame anybody for leaving this one early.

Yep,I have have a man crush on the Shockers. So shoot me...:-)
'shoot you'? That's the way fans SHOULD be, when you see basketball played correctly, no matter who does it...thanks for the shout out!

              • Worst officiating of the year. It was a bloodbath for 30 minutes and then they tried to clean it up, too late. Idiots.

                • Leaving early is BS. It's not that big of a town. Sit the f down, when the game is over, get to the car and listen to the postgame. Freaking hate people not staying to applaud the effort. Give me your damn tix, I'll stay and you can watch from home

                        • Shocker highligts on Sports Center right now. Only 8 minutes into the show. Pretty early. They showed a lot of Fred Van Vleet and included WUshock being carried up the student section.

there's a big difference though. Stutz was an 18-year-old Fr and Nurger is a 21-year-old Fr. The difference in physical development (not necessarily BB development) appeared to help Stutz quite a bit as he simply got older and grew into his body.

That makes it harder to project Nurger's potential or ceiling. One thing is certain - it always takes the big guys longer to develop than it does the smaller guys.
You also have to remember Nurger is 21 right now.

                              • I honestly fear that some day all games will be called in this fashion (swallow your whistles until players come to blows).
