I just think it is great that we actually have a game to get excited about. Someone has actually taken a seat at the big boys table with us. I think it is great for the MVC and great for the fans. I really hope this scenario pans out because we would have a decent chance of gameday coming to the ICT

The fact that you (and unfortunately others) aren't excited by every game is at the crux of fan consternation these days.

Gameday won't be coming to Wichita...they might send a secondary crew if it pans out. Hopefully our team is focused on Missouri State right now. I trust they are. Not that it matters to anyone, but I don't believe either WSU nor UNI are now or should be if they were to win out to 2/28, top 10 teams. Good teams yes. Top 10, I don't think so. Just my one and only opinion for this thread that I will now abandon.

WSU has a few tough games, but they SHOULD win them.

The Shocks have Missouri State tomorrow and are at SIU on February 17th. I agree they should win those games, but there are certainly no guarantees.

Home and home with Indiana State, a home game with Evansville, and at Illinois State are certainly tough games. If the Shocks play those games at the level of the past 3 games (LUC, UNI and BU) those games will be more than tough and it is certainly arguable whether the Shocks should or would win any of those 4 games.

I suspect 3G will attempt to shorten his bench in those games but foul trouble has a way of disrupting those plans and teams seem to be figuring out how to get a couple of our guys in early fouls trouble on a consistent basis.

It will be a challenge and, hopefully, the Shocks prevail.

KenPom gives WSU a 35% chance at winning out until Feb 28. He puts UNI at almost 50%.

That makes for about a 1 in 6 chance that both teams enter that game without another blemish between now and then. I think that is plenty high odds to be worth discussing as a possible "what if".

I get excited to watch all the games, but you can't honestly tell me playing Drake, MSU, Bradley, and SIU gets your juices flowing as much as playing an actual legit team. I agree that neither team is good enough to be considered a top 10 team, but it is certainly possible 4 or 5 teams ahead of us lose in the next few weeks and both teams move up. I highly doubt that will happen. I was more just hoping out loud that it happened lol. I think if both teams don't lose till then, we will probably be looking at more of a #11 UNI vs #13 WSU, which is still great and exciting

As you quoted me as saying, WSU has a few tough games remaining. It obviously isn't a given that they will win all the games, but are you saying that WSU won't be favored in every game leading up to the UNI game? Favored to me means they should win the game. Not that they will, but they SHOULD. I stand by what I said. WSU has a few tough games, but they should win them.

Doc has admitted in the past that he generally enjoys watching games against good competition more than games against pushovers. He definitely enjoys both, but the keyword is that he enjoys certain games "more".

Then he turns around and makes stupid statements talking down to those lowly fans that dare to express their excitement for a big game. At times, he can be quite the hypocritical jerk.

I am saying IF the Shocks play the way they have over the past three (3) games against Loyola-Chicago, Northern Iowa and Bradley that they will have a very difficult time winning any of those 4 games I mentioned and IF the Shocks play that way it is debatable whether they should and will win those games favored or not.

My immediate interest is in how the Shock will play against Missouri State. I really have no clue how the Shocks will play over the next 6 games. My hope is that they will play well against the Bears, although they can probably win that game without playing their best.

I can live with the Shocks muddling through the next 6 games I suppose but it would certainly dull my excitement level if they do that. I am not really expecting that but at this point it is very difficult to know what to expect from this year's version of the Shocks. Tomorrow would be a good time to start a consistent run of high level play by the Shocks. UNI is really not very much on my mind at this point.

WSU will likely be favored against UNI at home as well... doesn't mean we should look forward to the NCAA tournament.
