Kennedy mentioned yesterday that quite a few fans flew up on the charter flight with the team......wonder what it takes to get on the jet (family, elite donors, etc?) Would be very cool to fly with the team (just dreaming).

    Any info is appreciated, thanks
There are still plenty of tickets available through Missouri State's website.

Don't know if this is true, but a friend of the family and former Shocker basketball player (played with Warren Jabali) stated that you can call the ticket office and they will sometimes comp tickets to away games upon request, even to NON-SASO members. I'm guessing that due to the close proximity of MSU that there will not be many tickets through this route.

Anyone headed to Springfield ? It would be great to see a lot of Shocker fans at the game.

If you are watching it on TV - the Shocker fans will be the ones without bags over their heads

Talked to Shoxlax today and I think I will be heading to the patch. He is working on where to go before and after our victory. Going on the MSU website for tickets tomorrow.

If you're a LARGE donor (top 100 ish at least) talk to Boatright. He MIGHT get you on the charter flight.

It's a lot of fun, either way or any way, to follow the Shocks on the road.
I will add, Doc, that Russell Wilkins sometimes gets an allotment of tickets from the other schools that he literally can't get rid of so he turns them back in. Check with him about a week before road games and see if that is the case.

Here is what I've figured out. If you are proactive and jump on the home teams ticket website as soon as single game tickets go on sale, you usually can sit pretty damn close to our bench without Stub Hub prices. All it takes is a little planning and forgiveness from your co workers when you are dropping Whiskey Tango Foxtrot when your computer locks up just prior to purchase. Seriously, DONT wait until the last minute or you will get garbage seats or gouged by ticket brokers. Grab the schedule as soon as it is out, find the game or games that are doable on the road, take the time to go to the home teams ticket site or call and find out the first possible date you can buy for the game. Do that before worrying about anything else like transportation, hotel, etc. Oh and don't forget to ask the boss for time off.

Charters are neat and squishy and you get to hang with the team and don't ever turn it down if you get the opportunity (which is not an easy one to get), but I kind of like the ability to create my own schedule and have my own transportation at these places. The team usually flies in the day before and sometimes that doesn't work for me. The quick jet back home after the game is tough to beat.

I'm waiting for Moshock to recommend a pregame gathering/eating place for me that will achieve two purposes: satisfy my non sensitive palate and load my intestines with enough ammunition that I can crop dust their student section when they start getting sideways with me like they did last year.

If you want to go to these games, you gotta do the work yourselves once the date comes out on the schedule. Don't wait for the charter flight to invite you or the ticket office to magically cough up comp tickets. Plan, plan, plan.

That being said, there are a shitload of nosebleed tickets left for 10 bucks apiece with some high probability of being able to move down later in the game.

If you like Italian there is a local estabishment on the south edge of the campus called Bambino's Cafe. A little hard to find and not a real big place. Seems to do a pretty good business on game days so you may need to be there by 5:00 pm. We beat the crowd at 5:00 pm but it did not take too long for there to be a waiting list.

Jimm's Steakhouse & Pub was pretty good as well. I would recommend making a reservation. Granted we ate there on a weekend but we did not have a reservation and had to wait 45 minutes. Seemed like a pretty popular place.

I would certainly ask @moshock for a second opinion.

The last time we made the trip we ate at the Dugout. Pretty good burgers.

Gotta think the arena is going to be pretty loaded for this one. Lack of secondary-market tickets seems to imply it will be.

Can't see this MoSt team hanging with us without Marshall, regardless of crowd, unless we take the game completely for granted, refs call a very tight game, and Sleepwalker Shaq shows up.

Ok, here's the pregame meal plan along with some suggestions:

There' nothing like BBQ to load up with ammo for crop dusting JQH. The moshock party will be at Whole Hog BBQ -224 W Sunshine - which is at the corner of Sunshine and Campbell across the street from Bass Pro. We will be there around 5:30. Although it's no Hog Wild - it's still pretty good bbq. @shoxlax: and I are going to try to turn the outer concourse at JQH into a wind tunnel.

@1972Shocker: I've never been to Bambino's Café so I don't have an opinion on it but you cannot go wrong at Jimm's.

A few other recommendations would be:

ReRico Brazilian grill (my personal favorite)
Bair's All American Grill (2 blocks from JQH on Kimbrough)
Harbell's Sports Grill -315 Park Central West

The Bars were down by 12 at half-time to the Cats. The Bars lost by 14.

The Bars had zero defense in the post. Tuttle had has way. Scored 16 in first half.

I am pretty sure that there will not be many 3 balls in our game.
