One trait that is helping the Shocks is keeping our turnovers to a mild roar with only 7 last night but we also had 6 steals and blocked 6 shots. SIU was only allowed 6 assists but yet we had 17. One last development is we have been fouling less lately as we shot 24 throws and SIU 13. Along with these areas that assist us in winning games is hitting around 70% lately on throws. These areas will be epic on our road swing next week to be successful.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

HCGM is 3-4 playing at Evansville. I REALLY hope we take care of business and square this thing up for HCGM.

Note to self: Evansville is 75 in the RPI and Bowling Green under Chris Jans is 78

Bowling Green is closing in on 4th place in the MVC in his first season.

I was on a sports book site and saw some data, which alarmed me.

So I went to the UE page and looked at the Aces' stats.

The official Men's Basketball page for the University of Evansville Purple Aces

We are in for a difficult challenge. For example, the Aces are shooting over 51% from the field and about 36% from three.

I think the main difference will be in the 4/5 area. Hopefully Darius can stay out of foul trouble and score 20+, but I imagine Evansville will try to draw fouls on him to get him out of the game. Shaq will need a big game, and some of the other freshman will need to play well too. Going to be close - I'll go with 72-68 Shox.

I do not know if we will win or lose this game, but I have a bad feeling that either way there may be a meltdown regarding rebounding afterward. If that is not the case, I think we will have shown some improvement.

The Pimps have kept it tight in each of their last 5 games. This one should be no different. Our secret weapon (no secret to us) will be Tekele in regulation with 16+ and FVV "refuse to lose" hitting all his throws in OT. I say Shocks 78, Pimps 74 in OT.

No reason we can't do the same, but also no reason to expect that as a likely outcome. Missouri State could probably play Evansville 10 more times and not repeat that feat. Crazy things happen. Doesn't mean they should be expected to happen repeatedly.

If we can get Mock in foul trouble, we win. However, I don't have a good feeling about this game. Marty's teams always give us trouble and this is his best team to date.

WSU had a different game plan last year that worked better than previous years. I'm curious to see if we go back to it, and if it works again. Evansville is also better this year than they were last year, so they might overcome the game plan more effectively as well.

I predicted a WSU win in the contest thread, but I'm pretty much only feeling a 51/49 sort of likelihood. This would be a huge road win for the Shox if they can grab it.

Evansville is the 3rd best shooting team in the country. That's good shooters well disciplined to take good shots, consistently.

They have the best 5 in the conference. They have a team that tends to draw a lot of fouls, for whatever reason, and when they go to the line, they convert (19th in the country).

They have the best defensive rebounding big in the conference and he can really shoot the FTs.

Anyone that doesn't think we're going to have anything less than an A effort and A execution is fooling themselves. This is not a great matchup for WSU, and Marty has had an unusual amount of success compared to other Valley programs.
