    That was 1990 I believe.

We also beat Oklahoma State that year. Started hot and went downhill. Is that the year Cooper broker his leg?

Bama will be a good test. They come across to me as a Seton Hall type team. Need to play good, look for a strong game from Fred...Shocks 74 - Tide 63.

Alabama fans don't care about basketball until football is over... We win out of fan support alone... Their fans don't care so that hurts their psychy

1990....might as well have been 1790 when you consider how the landscape has changed.

Home games against Alabama, Delaware State, Oklahoma State, Austin Peay, Kansas State and Notre Dame. Road games at Kansas, Utah and neutral games against Tennessee, Georgia, Hawaii, Stetson and a couple of others. Cohen was such a horrible coach and those teams were wildly inconsistent.

Lose at Bradley by 20 but win at home by 10. Beat Oklahoma State (who tied for the Big 8 Championship) 72-69 then lost to KU (who tied OSU) by 34 in a game that wasn't that close.

Went to Illinois State and won 73-60. Came back to Wichita just 12 days later and that same Redbird team throttled WSU 57-78.

Beat Alabama but lose to Georgia by 30 on a neutral court, a team that split with Alabama that year. Robert Horry Latrell Spreewell and Melvin Cheatham (all 3 NBA draft picks) were on that Tide team.

It is. Didn't really start that hot with a 30 point loss to a decent Georgia team and then a 10 point loss to an awful Dartmouth team, but I get what you're saying.

Cooper's injury came later against Tennessee in Hawaii just after Christmas. Suffered a bad case of island fever at Utah losing by 40, then beat UT in Hawaii, got pounded by the home Rainbows, then beat Stetson.

Bringing back these memories constantly reminds me how miraculous the program turnaround really was. I remember being at a home game against Indiana State where our pregame line was +28. Those were awful times.

Alabama has given up 97 and 84 in their losses and 5 out 8 games have exceed 70.

WSU wins this easily if they get their inside game going against the undersized Bama team. If they don't then it will be another dog fight as they live and die by the 3.

I'm confused. Is Alabama big or small?

Starting lineup includes 6-5/208, 6-6/218, 6-8/226 and 6-10/240 at the 2 through 5 positions. Definitely bigger than the Shocks in the starting 5.

Key reserves include 6-7/207 and 6-9/223.

I suppose it's a matter of opinion, but they look to me like they have good size.

Bill Parcells - More than 70

Bear Bryant - Less than 70.

I really appreciate Coach Grant's high value of character and effort. Sounds familiar doesn't it? Nonetheless go SHOX babayyyyy!

"Ralph Miller was one of the finest coaches in the history of intercollegiate basketball. His teams were always fundamentally sound, team oriented, well conditioned, and ran both their offense and defense with great patience. I know of no coach whose teams competed against his, whether it be at Wichita State, Iowa, or Oregon State, who did not have great respect for him."—John Wooden
