  • Some people just have a hard time accepting that this is Shocker Town.

Unless I see some sort of committment from the owners that they support the Shockers, I will assume that this is a beaker bar.

BTW, actions speak louder than words.
ShockerNet is a rat infested cess pool.

Based on the above FB posting, it appears the problems are actually getting worse.

          • When did Amy's Baking Company buy Emerson Biggins?

            • If I ran a bar/restaurant I would not have any school allegiance..I'm a fan of the customer I'm dealing with and my employeea or people im working with should separate their fan hood and customer opinions real fast... All that manager had to do was apply common sense and he would have been s alright

                No joke.

If I was a business owner I would be a fan of $$$ over all else. That means, a happy customer.

                • Sorry for not responding sooner but no i don't know if it was specifically with the WSU issues or if it was a combination of things. Responding to Manhattan I know it's true because of ppl that I know that do business with Emerson's and the head bartender also relaying the same info.

                  • So this guy who used to work at Emerson Bigguns went to Friends University of Central Kansas. Is that kind of like Texas' own Sam Houston Institute of Technology?

That fact probably explains some of his behavior. Now he's just an unemployed Friends University of Central Kansas alumni.

                    • If they are looking for a way to make it up to WSU fans, I think WSU on all TVs and 2 for $1 draws and half price you-call-its 1 hour before until the end of the game on game days. Yeah, that should do it.

I will agree with you on this one. Jenn bags on national announcers constantly via twitter on grammar. She/Dani are the cliché queens of all time. Both make me puke. Won't watch nor follow anymore. Guy on Kake isn't bad.

Although the transitive property of addition implies otherwise, I think grouping is important in this case.

                            • More on Emerson Biggins

We were on vacation last week & missed both of the WSU games so 2 of our kids went in our place. They had dinner before the 1st game & then rode the bus to Koch Arena. They told us that the bus was so crowded that they decided to park at the 2nd game instead of taking the EB party bus. When we returned & I read about all the fuss here, I decided to check it out 1st hand by dropping by Emerson Biggins West today. I wanted to make sure we have a viable way of getting to the games via their party bus this season. A waitress there did confirm that the manager, Tom, was fired. She also said that for the 1st game, they only used one party bus (which I told her was a mistake), but it resulted in a lot of WSU fans at the bar who were not able to get on the one bus. At that point, there were a lot of KU fans there so the new Mgr made the fatal mistake of turning most of the TV screens over to the KU game. Bad idea.

The waitress did tell me that Luis is still a co-owner of the bar, but is not involved in the day to day operations of it. At least, that is the way I understood what she said. You may recall that the son of Luis was killed in an auto accident last year, & he was helping Luis manage the two Emerson Biggins bars. I can only speculate that Luis may have decided that trying to manage both bars by himself was more than he bargained for. But, that is only a guess. I do remember that he was always there last season welcoming all of the customers as they boarded the buses. He is a nice man! We will miss having him around!

                              • Since I have DISH and not Cox, I went to EB to watch the NMSU game as I am only 5 minute drive from EB. I walked into the main bar/tv room as the game was tipping off and noticed the WSU game was only on the smaller tv's up on the west wall. KU game was on the 2 big screens. I actually prefer watching the game on the smaller screens as the picture to me is sharper than the big screens, but was surprised WSU wasn't on the big screens. I was more upset that the audio was on the KU game. EB did switch the big screens & the audio to the WSU game for just a couple minutes in the 1st half but quickly switched back to the KU game. For future WSU games televised on Cox, I'm hoping I can stream the games online using ESPN3 or WatchESPN, but I may be out of luck if the games are blacked out in Kansas.
