  • #8 Notre Dame is getting stomped by NCST.

Creighton has also not yet scored a point and it's more than 5 minutes into the game.

    • I watched a good part of the Red Bird game. UNI did not win the game. The Red Birds lost it with one bad play after one dumb play. It really was pathetic.

During the portion of the game that I watched, for some inexplicable reason, the Birds did not think it was warranted to guard 3 point shooters in the left corner. What a dumb decision and the Birds paid for it.

        • Whoever says the new big east is a power basketball conference has not watched the first half of the Creighton vs Villanova game.

          • FS1 wants so bad for the "new" BE to be considered a "power" conference. Ain't gonna be that way.

              • I posted this last year, but hell it's too good not to post up again: Nova essentially has two "home" arenas - a tiny, Drake-style, 6500 seat, on-campus gym for the games against the small-time opponents that draw little crowd demand, and a large, downtown, city-owned arena that is leased for the big-time opponents. Guess which facility the Sweater Vested Blowjobs have been invited to @Nova so far in the NBE?

                Yeah...

                    • Pretty good reading over at Redturdville. They are in complete meltdown mode.

Students are back, school is in session.

We have a weekend home game against a top 20 team.

Weather is not bad for January.

No Bears game. No high school football or basketball to compete with.

                      No NFL playoffs.

And still, 6,118 people show up to Redbird Arena to watch the game.

I used to be frustrated about this, blaming the B/N community for its lack of support.

Now, as much as I hate to admit it..I am finally starting to see why people don't show up. This program has been a bunch of pretenders for way too long. We might as well be a directions school.

Year in and year out, we are either bad, mediocre, or decent.....but we're never a great team.

The community is on to it. The pep band is getting smaller, as is the student section and the student turnout. The grey hairs are not being replaced with young alumni. This program is dangerously-close to being completely irrelevant. Winning goes a long way, but where are the wins? When Taste of Redbirds runs its course - you're going to need good reasons for the fans and the community to come out and show its support.

                      6118? That is dangerously low.

So go ahead, Coach Muller. Go ahead and get on the crowd for wanting free wings. Go ahead and act like a complete baby to the referee when you don't get a bail out call, go ahead and call the fans out for not coming out to Redbird Arena. But while you're at it.....you might want to start thinking about winning some damn games here at Illinois State and winning these championships you talked about.

6118? The more I think about it, that's pretty good for what this program has produced over the past decade and a half.

                      • I tuned in just in time to see Artino try to dunk it... He barely cleared the rim with his hands, botches the dunk by hitting iron and eventually the ball bounced around and fell in like more of a layup. It was pretty sad

Interesting to see which direction these go.

Im glad someone else saw that. I'm so used to our athletes over the years that seeing something like that is just hilarious and odd to me now.

I mean, he was unguarded. He just literally can't get up high enough from point blank. Isn't he 6'10"?
