Goodness gracious ... check this out:

Bradley shot 25 percent from the field, while K-State hit 23.1 percent of its shots

Expert recap and game analysis of the Incarnate Word Cardinals vs. Nebraska Cornhuskers NCAAM game from December 10, 2014 on ESPN.

Well there goes the hopes that Nebraska would be a good team to match up with in Diamond Head. What a horrible loss.

As was mentioned in the other thread, Incarnate Word had an RPI in the 40's. So it might not be too bad a loss.

We'll see. Their 6-1 record also featured 4 wins over non-D1 teams. So, there's that.

              • Incarnate Word's KenPom ranking is 171. Of their 7 games so far, only 3 have been against D1 teams. They beat Nebraska and a poor Princeton team. Lost at UTEP by 16.

Their RPI is based on only 3 games and will fluctuate wildly for the next month. They are a bit of an unknown and there is hope that they are a decent team. That would help give hope that Nebraska may still be decent too (what Shocker fans truly care about in all of this).

FWIW, Nebraska is still ranked #80 despite the loss. They will never sniff the top 25 this year like some of us had hoped, but they may still hang on to a spot in the top 100.

                  • Very unlikely IW will maintain that RPI especially playing in the 23 RPI ranked Southland conference. Stephen F. Austin is probably the class of that league. Outside of IW's RPI the average RPI for the remaining 12 Southland teams is 231 at this point. IW was picked to finish 6th in the Southland.

Losing at home exaggerates the damage of this loss as well. Nevertheless, as long as Nebraska doesn't totally wipeout in Big 10 play they should be much of an RPI drag. Just want to make sure we don't lose to the Huskers if we do happen to match up with them.

                        • And in other basketball news, Bailer bails out Mighty Georgia Southern. Two #3 seeds down for the Big XII, one to go!

BTW, ESPN is now saying that TEX is trailing BUT by one right now. Will BUT get TEX or will TEX get BUT? We shall see.....
