  • Perhaps I missed it earlier or didn't hear on the radio, but where was Coach Brown?

    • I think our depth as the season progress's is going to really be good. Holland had a very good night shooting and handling the ball. Bush and Nurger, Kelly looked pretty good and will only get better. I think Morris is lagging alittle but their is plenty of time as long as he keeps a positive attitude and dosen't start pouting. He has the tools to be a big part of this program.

Recruiting I believe. At the Sunrise-Lancaster game in Wichita Falls.

        • 1. I wish the out of town Shockers could have see the game live. There is no way that television can do justice to this team. The off camera action is so much fun to watch.

          2. The college game is not too big for Henderson. He looked extra comfortable. During the shoot around and when he was putting up 3 balls, he was setting up about 2' behind the three line. He is going to work out just fine for us. Well trained by an Aggie dad.

          3. When it was announced that Holland would be playing the 2, I was not sold on the idea because of his size. Quickness, speed and shot accuracy makes for a good solution. His quickness and size gave fits to Northwood. He will be an extra fun player for us. He puts a lot of juice in offense and defense.

          4. I know a lot of folks on this fine forum are sold on Shaq. There are about four players, who can play the 4 better than Shaq. Forget about the 5. There are three players better than Shaq at the 5. Shaq's last appearance in the game came at about the 2-3 minute mark. He followed the man that he was guarding out to the corner. The offensive player passed off and took an immediate return pass and drove to the basket. Shaq made a zero effort to guard him. Shaq did not even make the obligatory ole' defensive move. He just watched. I imagine Coach Marshall popped a handful of Rolaids.

          5. Baker, VanVleet, Holland, Cotton and Henderson have one skill in common. Each of them can drive from the perimeter and finish. When was the last time that Shockers had this much drive ability? Long, long ago, if ever.

          6. During warm up, I was distracted numberous times. There was a bouncing young lady, who kept sashaying for the scorer's table area to the student seating area. Just sayin'.

          • Good analysis @Ricardo del Rio:.

I agree on Shaq. It breaks my heart to say this, but he looks to be another case of "couldn't cut it at WSU".

I wish every single recruit, that comes through CKA's walls, pans out. Sadly, that just isn't the case though.

            • MSU has cut the lead to 1 with 4:07 remaining. Haven't lead since it was 5-3.

Iowa (just outside the top 25) had their hands full at the half with this team. They played a lot of guys and were led by Uthoff who we recruited long ago and might be able to make our team today....MIGHT.

I'll be interested to see what Rollie's comments are, but if he's honest they should be along the lines of "We've played a couple of top 25 type teams, but we found out what an elite team looks like tonight".

                    • Bears win 68-66. The Bears zone and frequent trips to the line overpowered MSSU.

Excellent analysis @Ricardo del Rio:. As to #6, I bet dollars to donuts that was Evie Heartl. She being the owner of one of the best walks this side of the Mississippi.
