  • WSU VERSUS NORTHWOOD EXHIBITION GAME

Here's the deal. The old adage is you play like you practice.. We are a ways out yet but this exhibition game will be here
before we know it, Nov. 8th.. Who will redshirt? Who will start? How will we do this Season? Will we win the Valley, St. Louis, and how many games do we win at the Dance? Who will lead the way? Can we rebound and play defense like we did last Season going 35-1? Will we be an improved shooting team? We have some real fine experienced players and lots of new faces, especially inside. Of our new players, who will be the ones that play the most? Who would you start? Lot's of
speculation but this is what we do. Discuss.

Apparently, they will have already faced Iowa and Villanova by the time they get to us. I think I saw a couple 6'7" guys and a 6'9" guy. In other words, they aren't terribly big. I feel like you could start Wessel :)

The Mags did not seem to think that we have any new players that will be among the best of the new players in the Valley. I could see Nurger or Kelly possibly starting some games for us and being among the best of the best new players in the Valley. I do also think that FVV, Carter, Cotton, and Baker will be all be improved players this Season which is scary good. We must remember the many new players this Season, understanding that our best games could be late in the Season which
      can ge a good thing.

        Possible starters are:

        BWam
        Wessel
        Nurger
        Kelly

I do not think Morris or Glass will start.

I believe that an exhibition such as this does NOT count against your redshirt eligibility. I expect to see plenty of the newcomers.

That will be my favorite part about this game... Getting to see plenty of the newcomers. It's about time we started laying the questions to rest. The Nurger sample size is small. We haven't even seen Shaq or Bush yet. How cool will it be if Shaq gets to play and he dominates? And hopefully Nurger comes out and backs up his previous performance with another solid game. I shouldn't sell Bush short just yet either. They say he isn't quite as raw as EO in the beginning. We shall see.

Who's the best defensive big other than Carter? My guess is BWam, but wouldn't be shocked if it was Kelly.

Morris will likely shine with the lights on, but will Marshall allow him minutes? My guess is yes, but with the worlds quickest hook should he find himself out of position.

Could someone remind me the radio provider for the games? (it's no longer KNSS right?) Links on how to stream online would also be appreciated. Is Shockerradio.com no longer around? Thanks for the help!

Rollie's been to Koch a few times before, no?

Cool --oldies music, and our favorite golden oldie announcer for the game. KEYN also has a little bit of reach into outlying areas, I've always found.

Does anyone know if KEYN will have a podcast or something similar for both the Coach's Show and the games? I looked on their web page and couldn't find any info on it.

Depends on what you mean by "defense." Carter is tough using position and smarts, but also gets a blocked shot or two. BWam may block more shots, but he hasn't yet learned the intricacies of pushing the dribbler out on the ball screen and getting back to defend the post. Kelly and Glass may well be better defenders, if not shot-blockers.

"We have to pass it, to find out what's in it".

A physician called into a radio show and said:

Thank God we don't have to listen to talk radio while waiting for Mike and Dave.
