Seems lots of people seem to forget LOSSES that more than likely contribute to where you are actually ranked. Six losses is probably not Top-10 worthy and quite frankly they really shouldn't be complaining all that much as they are the highest ranked 6 loss team in the country at #12. They should be thankful about that.
    But.. But... Clearly those are quality losses, which actually improve your ranking. Right...?

      There's a common point I see people try to make, that if Team A (who is, say, 25-2) played Team B's schedule (who is 20-7), Team A would not have the gaudy record and so they are undeserving of their ranking. There are two problems with this logic:

      1. Team A didn't play Team B's schedule. There is no way to know how Team A would have fared, so that is a non-starter.

      2. But let's go with it and say Team A would not be 25-2 against Team B's schedule. That doesn't automatically mean Team A would be any worse than 20-7.

      UNI or WSU might just have the same record as ISU if they had played ISU's schedule. But they didn't. That's why there's a tournament at the end of the season.

        That's what really bugs them. They don't want us in "their" tournament either.

          You need to send that one to Coach Marshall and to Mike Kennedy.
          Send it Mark Adams, Seth Davis, and Soren Petro Via Twitter..

          Better yet Kellen Marshall...

            Go to the comments. Some joker from, I think, San Diego State giving UNI hell for their #10 ranking. Entertaining.
            Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

              Fingers crossed for a UNI-KU rematch...

              Oh... the humanity...

              SDSU needs to worry about making the top 68..

                Somehow WSU jumped 4 spots to 10 ... UNI Dropped 1 to 12 ... Not quite sure how that happens with the results in the last week.

                I'm guessing because Dana O'Neil voted "Northern Arizona" at 9 instead of UNI lol

                  Too funny! It's been corrected. UNI #9, up 2 spots, WSU #12, up 2 spots.

                    There was actually two errors.. Dana O'Neill voted for Northern Arizona instead of UNI and CL Brown voted for Iowa instead of Iowa state... I guess that goes to show how little they pay attention to the state of Iowa

                      I was wondering if there wasn't another error given the corrected movement.

                      • I want the Shocks to finish in the top 10 badly. Tenth place is probably the best they can finish in the rankings.

                        Best case.

                        1. Shocks win out. UNI loses to the Shocks on February 28.
                        2. Two of these teams lose at least one game - Utah, Notre Dame, Louisville.

                        Utah's schedule (selected games):
                        @Oregon State 15-9
                        @Oregon 17-8
                        AZ State 13-12
                        AZ 22-3
                        @Wash 14-11

                        Notre Dame's schedule (selected games):
                        Syracuse 16-9
                        @Louisville 20-5
                        Clemson 15-10

                        Louisville's schedule (selected games):
                        @Syracuse 16-9
                        @Florida State 14-12
                        Notre Dame 22-4
                        Virginia 23-1
                        Utah - check
                        ND - check
                        Louisville - check
                        Iowa State - check

                          • Where are we going to check in on Monday?

                            Let's recap. KU lost to a quasi resurgent, but generally bad K-State team. Notre Dame lost to unranked Syracuse. Wisconsin lost to #14 Maryland. That could be an issue for us. Iowa St lost to K-state as well. Baylor and OU might give us trouble too.

                            Oh, and UNI lost to someone this week, too :)

                            If Arizona gets beat by Utah, it will really screw things up for the pollsters. And if gonzaga can't hold off BYU who is currently leading them, things get even crazier.

                            So if you are sitting at 11 and 8,9 & 10 all lose to either YOU or to unranked teams, why would you not come in at 8? Sure #14 beat #5 but that would be an awfully big jump to pass us when we just beat #10 ourselves. I'm not so sure we can clip Wisconsin and grab 7!

                            What say you, ShockerNet!?

                              You can count on Soren Petro not moving us higher than 10. He already posted on Twitter today his agreement that we are no better than a 4 seed. He is firmly in the Seth Davis camp.

                              I am guessin no better than #9 overall.

                              • I'm gonna go out on a bit of limb and say we check in at #8. Yep one spot higher than what that team from NE Kansas will check in at. Tons of pub and love from what transpired today at Koch!!!
