Hard to picture ND as a top ten team, but the ones who are really being victimized by the Irish are the UNI fans and their top ten dreams. Being in the top ten is nice, but for WSU it's (relatively, and certainly by MVC standards) old hat. The UNIs have never been there, though, and there's just one team in the way...

3. Notre Dame loses to Louisville on March 4
4. Louisville loses to Virginia on March 7
If those games should unfold then the Shockers could be ranked #10 and capture a 3 seed in the Big Dance.Kansas is Flat. The Earth is Not!!

We will have no problem whatsoever cracking the Top 10 if we win out. There are 3 AP Polls remaining before the Dance.
Conference tournaments are a blood bath and winning out would mean two wins in eight days against a team that likely still finishes in the Top 20. Meanwhile, we just moved up 3 spots in the last two weeks with one road win against a barely Top 100 team, two wins against complete creampuffs, and a home win against an almost-exactly-average Indiana State team. Notre Dame, Utah/Arizona, UNI (hopefully), etc. all have losses waiting for them.
People here are way too quick to cap our ceiling. Remember all those posts last December and January about how, if we won out, we could crack the top ten and maaaaaybe rise as high as #5, but no more, etc.? Dumb to real dumb. 9 seasons out of 10 we would have spent the last several weeks at #1 had Florida not run the table for 3+ months.

gonna have to disagree with yall about oklahoma. i think we should be ranked above them, but there's an good case for them to be a top 15 team, and i can see how power 5 centrics could put them above us.
OU has 9 top 50 wins. no school has more.
They're #10 in kenpom, #15 in espn's BPI and #17 in rpi.
I don't agree with it, but i can see how someone can rank them higher than us, especially if they're focusing on who teams have beaten, not who they've lost to.
our problem is that we're 1-2 against the top 50, with the last loss being an ugly one.
if we're a top 10-12 team, it's time to show it by running the table, and showing UNI who's boss. that'll make it a lot harder to ignore our resume.Dominance is a state of mind.

Fortunately, OU just started a 4 game stretch against the 4 bottom teams in the Big 12 standings. They have K-State (L), Texas, TTU, TCU, and then Iowa St and KU to finish the season. They started off with a bang against K-State, and if they lose the next 3, they will sort things out for everyone. What I expect from them is a win over the next three opponents, and then two losses against their ranked foes at the end. That's what they should do if they belong in the top 20. What they will actually do is lose every game and then beat KU. That win over KU will keep them in the top 20 because people are nuts. They will go 1-5 to close out the year, falling to 18-13 and improve to #15 because KU. :)
