No but I can truthfully say that I've never been shot at, been at a strip club (let alone at 2-3 AM), and never been with a prostitute. Those are ALL bad decisions and will place a person in situations that may have bad results. No one deserves what happened, and criminals need to be arrested, but one can place themselves in circumstances and around people who don't care about you and who will hurt or even kill you. My advice is still to steer clear of those circumstances and people.

Well said, monster -- perfection isn't required or expected of any of us (even Ron Baker! -- yes, Mr. Barker is quite likely imperfect too).

But at some point, a guy needs to get past foolishness, immaturity, and dangerous behavior; if not, he's likely to have a less successful career than he's capable of having. That doesn't require perfection, just common sense. And Cle is old enough to display some common sense and perspective by now. Hope he gets back on track.

Yeah, I really love all of these judgmental posts on CLE from posters on very high horses with very few facts about the situation and no context in which CLE is living. I guess you think CLE doesn't have the right to negotiate whatever he damn well pleases and I guess you should just be his agent and tell him how to behave and what to swallow. I'm ashamed of this thread. A guy gives us two of the greatest years of Shocker basketball we have ever experienced and the benefit of the doubt goes to some Grecian basketball team management that we have no connection to and who are ONLY paying CLE $150,000. We all certainly know Greece to be on top of the business and financial world. What, you think CLE isn''t worth it? I think he is worth way more than that plus all the damn nutritional food he needs and if he's not getting it and wants to tell them to go pound sand up their ass- GO CLE and GO SHOX...especially GO SHOX ALUMS! I am pretty sure nobody on this board ever went to a strip joint and probably would have agreed that, if they did, they deserved to be shot and then vilified for it and reminded about their foolish transgressions for years afterward.

I pray to God Cle doesn't read this stupid thread but if he does, please buddy know that I am behind you 100%. It is a free country and you can do what you want. Go somewhere that you are comfortable but please come back to town whenever you can and we will give you the standing Os of appreciation that you so deserve. Oh and Watcher, what is your evidence that Cle is "off track"? I think it is foolishness to judge people when you are not in their position and don't know the facts on the ground. But, that is just me.

There are some real headcases, out there-the P'Allen Stinnets of the world-that under no regime will show restraint or discipline. Then there are those that under the right guidance and dieection can flourish, but when left to their own devices will sabotage themselves. Cle seems to be in the latter group, as are most people. I hope he can hook up somewhere he can get a little direction.

What part do you disagree with? Other than a few typos I think it stands up well. Under the right guidance Cle can flourish, but results to date show he's not ready for laissez faire management. Clearly GGG gave him the structure he needed. Most professional teams don't have time or resources for that.

Well, let's see, I disagree with the inclusion of your first sentence which describes a former Creighton player as an example of what you believe may have become of Cle, with no evidence in support. Your second sentence, that presumes that Cle needs different guidance or more guidance, or whatever, and that he may be sabotaging his career, and your sentence three wherein you express in full colors that CLE seems to be in the latter group. Finally, your sentence four where you profess to care where he hooks up and then you imply again that he has no direction. So, there you have it; the answer to your question, I disagree with all of your post; the substance, contents, implication and presumption of each and every statement; todo; 100%; ALL.

First, I have to say that I am not a fan of AEK (Athens, Greece) and I don't follow what happens to them... But, last couple of days and because of C.E. signing to play for them and the situation that developed, I have been trying to "figure out" what happened...

This is almost entirely the same story you could get from reading the texts Cle posted. The key here is your last sentence: Cle asked for a release because he became convinced it wasn't a good fit for either of them. What everyone blaming Cle is missing is that Cle voluntarily left the team, so it's wrong for management to say he was let go for "disciplinary reasons."

Whether you want to blame Cle or not, this was an example of a highly paid (even if not by basketball standards) individual deciding to voluntarily leave an organization. To suggest that he was kicked out for disciplinary reasons is not borne out by any of the evidence presented.
