I don't think his "demands" are that crazy. According to his texts with the GM he would ask for food that wasn't just a salad, they would say they would get him something, and then they never did. That's why he got frustrated. He would ask for real food, they wouldn't get it, so when he went to get it he got in trouble.

I read an article in the past where some of the euro pro-leagues were shady when it came to contracts. Players weren't paid on time, or a portion of their salary was paid back to the team. Hard to know if that was the situation here, but it wouldn't surprise me if meals were part of the contract, but it was three helpings of Raman noodles or something.

The Greek league especially is known for being spectacularly bad when it comes to these issues. Frequently failing to pay players, or even failing to pay a players rent that the team was to cover. Not sure exactly how that league even manages to sign anyone.

When Cle was a Shocker player, he was a great team mate and a credit to the University. At NY, it appears he made some personal mistakes and poor choices. I don't know enough about this situation to make a comment.

Hopefully, Cleanthony will find another good opportunity elsewhere. I would be surprised if he doesn't. Who knows maybe this will turn out to be a blessing for Cle.

I'm okay with what Cle did, but...

Surely he could have found a nearby market and gotten some fruit; then he could go to the restaurant after practice. I don't think one crappy practice on an empty stomach is worth giving up $150K.

There are some real headcases, out there-the P'Allen Stinnets of the world-that under no regime will show restraint or discipline. Then there are those that under the right guidance and dieection can flourish, but when left to their own devices will sabotage themselves. Cle seems to be in the latter group, as are most people. I hope he can hook up somewhere he can get a little direction.
