The world has moved to higher quality concessions, but Koch didn't get the memo. I don't have to eat overpriced crap food so there is nothing to _complain_ about. But it's embarassing.
It's actually the same as all other arenas, they just don't sell alcohol, so you're acutely aware of how terrible it is.

My confession from many years ago:
I believe it was before the '81-'82 season. WSU had just come off an elite 8 showing and returned 4 out of 5 starters. On top of that, they had 3 heralded freshmen recruits arriving in Aubrey Sherod, Greg Dreiling, and Xavier McDaniel. Spirits were high and the anticipation was incredible. Back then, they sold student season tickets and it was obvious demand would exceed supply. The problem was how to distribute them equitably. The student-faculty senate held an important and widely-attended meeting to address the issue. After discussing many alternatives such as a lottery, it was finally decided just to open the ticket office at the appointed hour and sell the tickets first-come, first served in the usual manner.
The day before the day arrived, so my newlywed and I brought our tents out to camp in front of the ticket office and the roundhouse. We settled in, approximately 30th in line, for the evening. But, it was a cold, late October night and it soon began raining. It was miserable, so my wife and I decided to sneak out and go back to our warm, dry apartment about 2 miles from campus to spend the night. Such we did and snuggled together through the night, showed up early the next morning to sneak back into our tent, got the seats we wanted, and enjoyed a wonderful season (despite the probation). I'm not proud of that moment, but it was the only way we could have gotten tickets.

You dog, you. Don't tell that one kid that gets super pissed about hot girls taking his premier seats in the front row that he camped out for. I'm still trying to figure out which is better, watching a game from the 1st row of the student section with whoever else shows up or watching the game from the 2nd row surrounded by good looking ladies. Is anyone else concerned about that kid?

But if he can't fist bump his personal friend Ron Baker every game, how will we ever win? He's the messiah, the chosen one, Neo Wu.

I once accidentally washed a lucky shirt during a win streak.

As good fortune would have it, the team was so good it didn't matter.

My section was grateful for the happy accident.

Seriously. It's practically the exact same tasting crap you could buy at the Wings games in the 80s. I will buy overpriced high quality hot dogs, for example. I would love to share that experience with my 6 year old. But I am not buying overpriced crap-in-a-bun.

Very concerned. Speaking of, I haven't seen him on here since he got a verbal spanking by a good many posters for crying to the local media about his terrible plight.

We loaded the cooler and got there plenty early and parked. So here we are, drinking heavily, in the parking lot of the arena, (which at the time was next to Tulsa's main police HQ.) We find our seats, and commence being asses of the highest order. Very competitive game, but with a minute or so left, we were down I think 4 or 5. We figured it would be prudent to quickly leave at that point based on our behavior. We stopped at a convenience store across the interstate from the arena to junk food/fuel up. As we were leaving, we noticed that nobody was leaving the stadium or the parking lot yet. Scrambling through the radio stations, we found the game, and caught the end of an epic WSU win as we left Tulsa. Our friends to this day stlll don't know we balled. As far as they still know, it was the best g'damned game we ever saw.
Those were the days, we were second in line. Bought season tickets for a sorority, about 40 of them and made $5 a tix. These were the days of no GA and we paid for our tix plus half our books. Be glad you went back to your place, I remember about 3:00am the sprinkler system came on and we got soaked. Man those were great times.
