Although, it's important to remember that this is the same list that had some pretty ridiculous placements earlier. I won't complain, though, because a list that respects the Marshall and places him top 8 or better is automatically infallible and exempt from criticism.

Indeed it is pretty good, DJ. I don't think it's time for Marshall tomorrow, either; I agree that Ryan is likely to be #8. Beyond that, we're getting pretty high up the mountain.
Regardless of where he ends up, considering that lots of people -- such as players, dads (and probably the occasional mom too), and AAU and high school coaches -- read ESPN, it can't fail to help for Marshall to get the publicity that a high ranking will give him and WSU. The word will probably also get out about the NBA GM's comments on Marshall and WSU that were reported in PaulS's recent article about Cleanthony Early.
All of this stuff just has to make future recruiting easier, as better and better players start to think in terms of checking out Marshall and his program, and as the ones who fit in decide they like what they see when they do.

Just to be amongst this final select group of future Hall of Fame coaches is an honor in itself for Coach Marshall.
Naturally we want him to end up #1 and his record over the last several years certainly warrants it.
But, where ever he ends up in the final selection process is now guaranted to be a most significant achievement that he, and all of us, can be most proud of.

No. 8.

I refer you to my above post which points out why this is still probably too low, given the criteria of the poll.
I do like the last line of this related article:

marshall replenishes his teams year after year, a'la duke, kentucky etc., with players that nobody has heard of. he's not bringing in nba first-rounders by the bushel. he is as good as anybody in the country.. anybody.
oh, and thank you nc state fans and associates for believing that you were too good for gregg marshall.
