Derail Green gone?

Has the Evan Wessell kid decided to look to transfer yet??? Haven't heard any news about him yet (unless I missed it). I realize he's a local Wichita kid so a transfer to a far away program probably isn't what he's looking for. But maybe somewhere close enough like an Oral Roberts or UMKC. Wherever he goes I hope he has some success! Seems like a hard worker and a good kid!!!

I'd like to see Evan pull a Graham Hatch and really turn the corner next season. He has the tools, just needs to get the confidence and put in the work. I can already smell the incense burning for Shockref's shrine.

Best of luck to Derail. As many others have posted in the Atwood and ******* threads, it was pretty clear the coaching staff continues to recruit based on what they know of their team and players. Most of us saw the writing on the wall in regard to Derail and his lack of quality minutes this season. More to the point, it was what he did with the few minutes he did get. I saw nearly every game this year (thank you ESPN 3) and those few times Derail got on the court, he looked to me to be overwhelmed and a bit lost. While I didn't expect Ron Baker, I did expect to see a bit more poise and comfort on the court from a redshirt freshman. I would suspect if he had the defensive tenacity Evan exhibits everytime he's on the court, Derail might not be leaving the program. But that's not the case. Nothing against the young man, as others have pointed out, his demeanor on the bench has been nothing short of outstanding. I wish him all the best.

Wessell is a contributor, just not in a sense that shows up real well statistically.

Why, he got decent minutes that I think those might go up next year with the departures. I hope he returns to offensive form next year but we will really need his defensive minutes and hard work. We need upper class men to teach our new recruits how to play shocker basketball. 3 years in 3Gs system is huge for the young guys coming in. He'll show them what it takes to be a winner!

Good to know! Yeah if he wants to keep rolling at Wichita St....I guess he could be a good asset for the incoming Shockers. I was under the assumption all season that he would want to transfer out after this season due to the competition and quality recruits coming in next year. As a great defender and hustler Cotton showed us that he can "score" when needed. Perhaps Wessell follows suit and shows some offensive arsenal as well. Sure hope so!!! Go Shocks!!!

Notice how Atwood isn't mentioned, rather, *******. That should tell us something. So now my thinking is the likelihood Willie Atwood is in the yellow and black next season is next to nil. *******, on the other hand, may be the next Shocker Juco transfer.
