I don't know their source but I have heard a couple people talking about Calipari going to the NBA? That probably means UK would be going on probation so I'm not sure if HCGM Would have any interest.

Great news for jans, and Marshall will find a way to fill the gap -- he's good at that, too. Meanwhile, this gets Jans some head coaching experience so that whenever Marshall finally does retire or somehow is presented with a job even better than what he has here (and as well suited to him, which won't be easy), WSU can hire Jans back, give him a big raise to return, and continue the Marshall-Jans regime.

ahhh, more vacated wins by Coach Cal on the way? Of course that does us no good.
I hope Jans decides it doesn't quite feel right & returns. But I also bet that he's been instrumental in helping to fi d his replacement.
My rooting interest in ex-WSU rooting interests now goes, 1) Jans 2) Boyle 3) Brauer 4) Turgeon.

Not sure. Don't think WSU would take an assistant from any school.
Hate to see Chris leave. He brought a lot to the Shox and was HCGM's right hand man. I'm a selfish guy.

As many of you who have met Chris know, he is a hell of a coach, but he is an even better dude. He and his lovely wife are tremendous people, and while I am sad that he will be departing Wichita State, I am happy for his first big opportunity to run his own D-1 program. Like someone else had mentioned, my list of teams I keep tabs on got another addition yesterday.

Head coach at a high profile JuCo as a replacement for an assistant?

Great news for Chris. We all knew he was on his way to becoming ahead coach of his own right.... And having that path from your assistant coaches means you've got the right guys in the program

Coach Jan's wife turned in her notice at work a couple a weeks ago. I was told not to broadcast this information till after the tournament . Good luck to coach Jans and his family.

A MAC team with Fiscal and Physical resources, sounds like a good fit.

Stroh Center locker rooms would have SMS players jealous.

HCGM has been lobbying for someone to give Jans a shot for a couple years now. I have a feeling that the hiring of Steve Forbes was done to ensure we have 2 very strong assistants on the bench if/when Jans got this opportunity. Both Haier and Forbes are great assistants and are relied on heavily for not only recruiting but scouting and game preparation. I assume they will both move up the pecking order and we'll have a great list of candidates to choose for the #3 spot. Good luck to Coach Jans, Bowling Green is in good hands.

You are one of few people that could keep a secret of this sort without at least implying that something was afoot. Kudos to you.
