I wonder if they might move Devon Smith into an assistant coaching position and look for a new Director of Player Development, although from what I hear Devon has been terrific in that role and I'm not sure what his career aspirations are.

One good thing about Chris Jans accepting the Bowling Green job. That tells me Coach Marshall probably is not going anywhere this year. Not that I though he was but this is at least semi-confirmation of that. I don't thing Jans would be moving on if he thought the WSU job was opening up now or next year.

There are plenty of options out there.

As for Bowling Green, while they struggled this year, they return 4 double digit scorers, and lose 3 seniors.

Been in the works for couple of weeks. It was just kept under wraps very well.

Kind of surprised none of the sleuths on here weren't keeping a diligent watch on flight tracker.

                That is all.

It was going to happen sooner or later. Congratulations Coach Jans. This is a sign of a good program.

Just like we loose and miss our seniors, Coach Marshall has shown this program will continue on the road of excellance. Now we demonstrate that we can wish well to a departing coach, and we will miss him, but the program marches on.
Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

Definitely. If Marshall was planning on leaving, Jans would be the obvious first choice to replace him.

I don't think most people know how important coach Jan's has been to our program. He has always had HCGMs ear and is a tremendous zone and game scout guy. He absolutely deserves a shot, but He will be sorely missed. I can see him being a future head Shocker if Marshall ever leaves for UK or Duke.

I only see that happening if Marshall doesn't trust Heiar enough to make him #2. I don't see that happening given Marshall's interest in loyalty from his staff.

#2 at Bowling Green would be a major step down in professional development and salary from #2 at WSU. I can't imagine Coach Jans would ask him to do that.

I can see Duke or UNC if they stray away from the lineage but Kentucky?
