    • I don't even want to go here, but I will ... Coleby was a big disappointnent to me this year. At the beginning of the season I thought he was going to be a monster. I think a hardworking and talented freshman could come in and fill his role. I hope that's Shaq.

I agree. Especially after everyone on the team said he (Coleby) was going to be someone we (fans) would know by the end of the season.

He was a great teammate and student though, so I say he was a success.

          I agree.

          Coleby looked lost at times.

We are going to bigger next year than we were this year, and our lack of size was never a problem in the Valley this year (and wouldn't have been a problem at all if didn't play one of the biggest teams in CBB history). We'll have Bush (7'0), yet to be announced JUCO big (6'8 or 6'9), Shaq (6'8, big body), and probably a freshman or two. We'll lose out on experience and pounds, but we'll have the ability to put a large frontcourt on the floor if needed.

I definitely agree. I'm not gonna lie, I'd still take EO and Aaron Ellis over Kadeem Coleby and Chadrack Lufile. With CJ its debatable, I guess. I wouldn't say he was a disappointment in the end, but he was basically an awesome backup center.

Having watched a progression from Clemente, Durley-Ellis-Blair, Stutz, Hall, EO....
This year was a weak post year. It's just that Cle and the best guards ever were able to make up for it.

For next year, will the C/PF positions as a whole be enough better and deeper across the board to make up for Cle's absence? I actually think it will.

                • one year guys are hit or miss...Armstead was a home run and Coleby was a strike out...its not an exact science..I remember every player being asked which player does everyone need to look out for and they all said Coleby...dunks everything and blocks shots...just didnt work out that way...we just need Shaq, Carter and Bush to really help out next year, cuz our guard play is great for the foreseeable future...

                  • I would take Coleby or CJ over EO in an instant. Calling Coleby a strike out is being far too critical of him, IMO. Not a home run, but far from a strike out.

Sometimes I forget to compare the body of work. It's really lame for me to say I'd rather have a guy who had a good career and won the NIT over a couple guys who about darn near won a national title... Twice.

On the other hand, I do think there is a good case to argue EO over Kadeem. Size alone. Their stats are really similar and EO wins on defense and his knowledge of the system. Now, if Kadeem had been a little better on offense, I could see myself saying I'd take him over EO.

CJ was fine. I only wish he would have hulked out more often. When he did, he was fun to watch

Bush is averaging like 6 ppg and 6 rpg for a juco... Do you really expect him to come in a contribute a whole lot from year 1? He is also rail thin. From many reports shaq is 6'7". I do think if Shaq gets his act together he could be a Hall type player for us, but we have all heard that his conditioning isn't the best and he will only be a redshirt freshmen. Carter is great offensively, but he is 6'7" and physicality isn't really his game. I see us having a hard time handling a player like Mockevicius next year. Coleby and Lufile were definitely not the greatest players, but they both had a little more size (both 6'9" big bodies) and experience than we will have next year. I mean we are looking at a pretty good possibility that we will be seeing 6'5" wessel at the 4 quite a bit next year. Hopefully we do indeed bring in a Juco or transfer(preferably one who can actually play next year) big so help down low.

                          • Outside of Carter, we are in the same speculative dilemma as we were this year regarding the bigs. Carter and Koleby had no shocker experience and we will be faced with the same situation next year. Bush and Morris are unproven and anyone's guess as to how good they will be.

We lose Cle which helped overshadow that deficiency this year...we won't have that luxury next year. Hopefully it won't matter and they produce beyond expectations.

That's pretty confident for a relatively unproven front court. I certainly don't doubt the upcoming players or Coach GM but that's a strong statement.
