It will go to Chicago and that will be the final straw.

If it goes to Chicago, can we just officially rename it the Illinois Valley Conference?
I'd be so done with this **** hole of a conference if they put it in Chi.

Having the tourney in Chicago:
Benefit: Loyola. Savings them about 300 miles. I guess this is a way of the MVC thanking Loyola for joining.
Neutral: INS, BU, DU, ISU, and UNI. Ranging from +11 to -69 miles, total miles saved is about 130. (Note that DU and UNI would save more time than miles). That's a savings of 26 miles per school. Should have little effect on increasing attendance.
Hurt: WSU, MSU, Evansville, and SIU. Ranging from +117 (UE) to +298 (MSU), total miles gained is about 924. MSU would now travel farther (70 miles) going to Chicago than WSU did to St Louis and SIU gained 220 miles. A much bigger commitment by WSU fans whether by time or money or both. Fully expect fewer fans from these schools.

Like Vegas gives a crap about the 2000 Shocker fans you can cram on Allegiant and Southwest over a 4 day period. Vegas probably emailed the MVC back a travel brochure. The MVC is only hoping for KC's bid being slightly worse than St. Louis so the MVC doesn't have to move it.

Let's be honest, though: We don't have any negotiating power with the Valley anymore. There's nothing the Valley can give us that would make us want to stay in the conference long-term ... unless maybe they move Arch Madness to Koch Arena and let us keep 100% of NCAA tournament payouts.
We're in a weird position here, because they don't have to keep us happy. If we have options to leave for a better conference, we will. If we don't, we'll stay. But they don't have to give us anything to stay, and even if they gave us everything and we have an option we'd probably leave.Originally posted by BleacherReportFred VanVleet on Shockers' 3-Pt Shooting Confidence -- ' Honestly, I just tell these guys to let their nuts hang.'
