It will go to Chicago and that will be the final straw.

If it goes to Chicago, can we just officially rename it the Illinois Valley Conference?

I'd be so done with this **** hole of a conference if they put it in Chi.

Put it in Chicago , essentially chase off WSU and MSU , and call it what it is "The I 8" Il,IA,IN 8
From the road I listen (Tune In radio) at home I watch ( season Ticks )

          Having the tourney in Chicago:

Benefit: Loyola. Savings them about 300 miles. I guess this is a way of the MVC thanking Loyola for joining.

Neutral: INS, BU, DU, ISU, and UNI. Ranging from +11 to -69 miles, total miles saved is about 130. (Note that DU and UNI would save more time than miles). That's a savings of 26 miles per school. Should have little effect on increasing attendance.

Hurt: WSU, MSU, Evansville, and SIU. Ranging from +117 (UE) to +298 (MSU), total miles gained is about 924. MSU would now travel farther (70 miles) going to Chicago than WSU did to St Louis and SIU gained 220 miles. A much bigger commitment by WSU fans whether by time or money or both. Fully expect fewer fans from these schools.

I think the MVC is to the point where they should consider playing the play-in and first rounds at home sites. Then, after that, the last two rounds should be played at the site of the best remaining team.

If that happens, I'll start the donations for the exit fee.

The MVC is only hoping for KC's bid being slightly worse than St. Louis so the MVC doesn't have to move it.
You may be right but I think a lot of the older WSU fans would make this trip. KC would be cool but Vegas would be more fun outside of the arena.

You know how bad Chicago would be when the mod breaks his own rules and curses.
                  Deuces Valley.
                  ... No really, deuces.

                        I was being sarcastic ;)

Let's be honest, though: We don't have any negotiating power with the Valley anymore. There's nothing the Valley can give us that would make us want to stay in the conference long-term ... unless maybe they move Arch Madness to Koch Arena and let us keep 100% of NCAA tournament payouts.

We're in a weird position here, because they don't have to keep us happy. If we have options to leave for a better conference, we will. If we don't, we'll stay. But they don't have to give us anything to stay, and even if they gave us everything and we have an option we'd probably leave.

I agree, wsu is in an airport with its bags packed, but the FAA has grounded all flights. All we can do is stand in line with uconn, concy, memphis, vcu, Richmond, stl, and Dayton and hope someone gets the call.

$6 and my left nut says it won't go to KC. The MVC knows shocker fans will travel.....so my guess is if they move it, it will be to Chicago so that Loyola, IL St....etc don't have as far to drive.
