UL plays St Louis. Russ Smith vs Jordairr Jett. UL wants turnovers and wins off converting turnovers in to points. St Louis is about ball control. Something gotta give. The question is bench. Does St. Louis go deep enough at the guard position not to get tired in the 2nd half?

It has the makings of a close game. I think the big post player for St Louis will have trouble keeping up with Harrell when Van Treese is out and Harrell moves to the 5. Then St Louis will struggle to keep Russ in front of them, but who hasn't.

Yes, we are fully aware. There's been plenty of media types trying to deny those facts and stating we have played nobody and therefore will get our butts handed to us as soon as we play a name brand team. In their mind we are severely overrated and hence the true underdog. Hence the sarcasm.

We as fans really don't give two craps about the naysayers but enjoy stacking crap on them here at Shockernet. It's become a fun hobby over the past few years.

      • You can only play whose on the schedule and those that will schedule you. You won them all. End o' story.

          Thank you for reasonable.

Don't care who you play, going undefeated is pretty damn hard.

I was seeing on Twitter before yesterday's games that a match with Kentucky would have WSU as a 4 point favorite, so this seems about right. I think we will cover. Kentucky is very large and athletic, but they only play big on the offensive glass and trying to block shots. They don't move the ball effectively and take a lot of contested jumpers. The big men don't post up deep on the low block where they have the size advantage. Randle appears to try to use his speed more than his size (although he is pretty quick) catching the ball on the high post. On defense they left open a lot of shooters and got themselves into bad mismatches on screening action. K-state couldn't take advantage of it, but it was very apparent.
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take....

.....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.

                • I think the keys to this game is

                  Tekele
Coleby/Carter/Lufile with an emphasis on Coleby. He's nothing on the offensive end but his style of play should fit in well with Kentucky's big. Not a lot of finesse with a reliance on muscle and athleticism.

The key to the game is 2nd chance points. UK gets more than their average (leads the nation) of 2nd chance points, UK wins. WSU prevents it from keeping UK off the offensive glass, WSU wins.

Good thing WSU prides themselves on their defense and rebounding.

Hence, Vegas favoring WSU. UK got their big points from 2nd chance last night. See James Young put back for 3 point play and Willie's put back dunk.

                          • Last night K State was assessed a technical for dunking within 20 minutes of game time. I would swear that I just watched a Florida player flush a two handed dunk within 5 minutes of game time. Is there an official definition of what a is a dunk as a opposed to a two handed throw down with both hands above the basket? I rewatched it and it was actually two Pittsburgh players that dunked.

I suspect there's at least 31 teams rooting for the Panthers today.
