If Gregg Marshall takes the Tennessee job...he gets placed in the same level of respect as Mark Turgeon in reference to his departure to Texas A&M...just my opinion...but that would be a slap in the face...if your going to leave...leave for an upgrade not a step back

Couldn't disagree more. Marshall would be leaving for 2x pay and leaving the program in 10x better shape than Turgeon did.

Marshall will have a helluva lot more headaches with their fans and their former "love", Pearl, coaching in the same conference. Marshall can get a much better job if he is patient.

Oh I agree, but the only job I see him moving to would be Duke or UNC, but the Vols job, meh. You can't tell me HCGM hasn't watched how Martin has been treated in Tennessee.

The only job I am truly worried about is Indiana. Crean is going to be out of there in the next few years and Marshall is the kind of coah they would love.

What does he have to be ‘patient’ about? Coach Marshall isn’t LOOKING for another job. Regardless of conference affiliation, he already has one of the top jobs in the country in a community where he is THE KING.

Agreed with many other people. We really need to quit saying that he "could find a better job." In my opinion he already has the best job in the country. You can win here and the fan support will always be there if you are working your ass off.

Tennessee just ran off a pretty solid coach - at least according to popular opinion. I would assume Marshall and Martin are acquaintances at the minimum, and possibly friends judging by the H-H we just closed out with UT. This means Marshall can likely get an earful of what went down there, if he so asks.

If UT thinks for a millisecond they are going to secure Smart/Marshall/et al. then they are in for a pretty big shock on the true palatability of their opening.

Oh, and there's always this: WSU pays Marshall more than UT paid Martin.

Isn't UCLA considered a blue blood? He supposedly turned that one down last year.
