You have a point about Tennessee going after Marshall, but I can almost guarantee that's not *******'s intent with that tweet. He just wants to stir crap up. Any time a job opens up you can say "Gregg Marshall," but you're not contributing anything of substance.

Yes, that's what he has stated publicly, although I suppose that could change. But based on his public comments I see Gregg coaching to about age 62 then taking a nice TV commentary job in his "retirement".

If someone is in the wrong 90% of the time, I will still defend them the 10% of the time they are in the right.

I see no evidence that ******* is making this news up. One could comment that Tennessee is only expressing interest in order to cover their own butt when boosters ask who they are looking at, but once again, that leads to a discussion of Tennessee, not *******. ******* is paid to report what we might call "silly", "unlikely", "goofy" things such as "Tennessee interested in Marshall". In this case, I see no reason to believe he is doing anything other than his job. No need for criticism here.

Gregg Marshall is clearly and outstanding college basketball head coach and any administrator of a Big 5 program that didn't at least send out some feelers to 3G is probably not doing his job.

Whether or not they can pry 3G away from Wichita State is another question? All we can do as fans is write the biggest checks we can afford and give Gregg, his family, his staff and his players all the moral support we can muster.

And quit calling his radio show with stupid questions and comments, not that anyone on this board would ever ask a stupid question or make a dumb comment.

If Gottlieb said that (without any further commentary) it would come across really random. ******* tweeting about possble coaching changes actually makes sense given the context of "coach changing season" that we are in right now. Not a good comparison.

Well, JH4P, ******* said the ever-popular sources reported that Marshall was a candidate at Marquette. ESPN has since reported that a "source" said Marquette was targeting Martin, and that they were targeting Duke assistant Wojo -- in fact, both were on ESPN's front page at the same time (!) -- which I would think should raise some questions about their credibility. (Hunters, help me out here -- does one actually aim at two targets simultaneously. I've never fired a shotgun, but that seems unlikely.)

People around here don't like *******, and you can certainly make the case they're attacking the messenger, but it's also possible to doubt the messenger without attacking when there's not much believability there. As is often the case, you seem a little quick to appoint yourself the calm, reasonable devil's advocate.
