I'm not certain about this, but I think as long as they passed their first semester classes, the one-and-dones don't count against the APR. I'm not even sure if they bother going to their spring classes after enrolling in them.

It's actually a combination of all of the above. They just have to leave the school in good standing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Academic_Progress_Rate
The article points out that leaving your second semester after the NCAA tournament but before you finish classes can harm the APR. But if they finish the second semester, it doesn't harm the school.

So the school has everything to gain and absolutely nothing to lose by having so many one-and-dones at a given time. Seems like there should be some sort of limit on those types of athletes on one team at a time. Not sure how you would regulate it but seems a bit unfair.
