If this does indeed become final, it does make sense for a few reasons. He, and I believe his wife as well, is from Wisconsin, so they'd be heading back home in a sense. But on top of that, I think Shaka is realizing that his stock has cooled off over the last year or two, and he has likely plateaued at VCU. So, although Marquette is not at the level of other jobs he has reportedly been offered in the past, it is still a step up from VCU. And if he is able to get it going there, he'll be able to rebuild his own stock and move on to a better job. If he's able to do what we think he's capable of, I highly doubt he'll be at Marquette very long.
