The coaching carousel is running later this year than it has recently. Always great when it's over.

The job that scares me the most is Michigan State. With the Timberwolves coach (Adelman) retiring, Tom Izzo is an easy plug there (too simple, maybe...). Michigan State has the money, facilities, fan base, and history. Fortunately, I think Marshall is someone who wants to finish what he started with Van Vleet, Baker, Cotton, and crew! Leaving for a "better situation" doesn't exist if you think a coach will define the situation as talent, returning players, and fan support. The facilities and resources that WSU has for a program in the current conference and size that it is are second to almost no one.

I do not personally know anyone who has any inside information on how Marshall feels about the NBA. There is no man better at teaching 17-23 year olds the right way to play basketball than Marshall. However, trying to reign in a group of 23+ year olds (with a few of them superstars) to do what YOU want rather than what THEY want is an entirely different story. If all fails in the NBA, at least you have a whoppin' big paycheck to fall back on. Marshall has not failed at anything he has tried, so why would I think he would fail in the NBA -- whether he would be "happy" there is for another day.

I agree that the NBA is probably not on Marshall's mind. He seems to like thrive off the "teaching" aspect of coaching and overall player development. NBA (and other professional) coaches seem to have issues with less and less say in roster decisions and I think Marshall desires the control of this to ensure he is dealing with players of good character.

Been told by sources that the contract offer and, in particular, the buyout was a stumbling block with Tennessee landing Mike White.

I don't see the NBA as something he would be interested in for a few years. The long NBA season and travel schedule just don't seem like something he would want to take on with his kids in school. I think he has even mentioned this before in interviews. He's a family man and you just can't be an NBA coach and Dad at the same time.

1) It's a bluff/smokescreen.
2) 3G or his agent has straight up told them that he is not interested.
3) Folks in the MU athletic department really are incompetent at their jobs.

Marshall's agent said #Mizzou has not reached out to the WSU coach. Also said it would take a perfect situation for him to leave Shockers.
