I know we don't have an elite history, but it always surprises me how many people think WSU has no history. As if that Final Four and two Elite 8s with numerous top 10 NBA draft picks never happened and we just popped on the stage with a Sweet 16 in 2006.

I can't believe the clowns you talk to remember the 2006 sweet 16! I got into it with my brother in law this weekend. You know the type. Walmart KU fan. Has no college degree, but picked the team that did well in whatever sport. (michigan football fan). And he was telling me about WSU catching lightning in a bottle last year and how they haven't played anyone this year.

Getting Wichita State is a death sentence though. I don't think the committee could resist potentially having those two stories overlap.

It's strange, isn't it? We're the institution located in paradise, with everything to offer our students, while Wichita State is a middle-of-nowhere school in a middle-of-nowhere state. Yet Wichita State is a juggernaut in basketball, while we're just happy to be here.

If Wichita State can become a big winner with so little history, Poly surely can as well. Get on it, Oberhelman.

The other thing I like about this game is that we are the first of the session. Presuming that we win our game, our guys will get a good solid look at the Kentucky/K-State game. Yes, UK and KSU players could maybe still watch our game as it happens, but only for a bit...and they won't get to lock in and focus because they will have to worry about their game coming up.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I am kinda hoping that Texas Southern beats them because they sound so superior, out there in Paradise.

Cal Poly is situated half way between LA and SF on the coast. Looks to be very nice weather with moderate precipitation. Largest employers are Cal Poly and California Mens Colony. Looked it up and it is a mens only prison. Two facilities one minimum security and they other medium security with fences wire and guns. Not exactly my idea of paradise but who am I to judge.

San Luis Obispo is a pretty nice area -- I'm a big fan of the Big Sur area. Paradise is probably pushing it.
