Also talking as if being in the state of Kansas would be a detriment to having successful basketball instead of an asset. Are they going to say that if some school in Texas is good a football, anyone can be?

So, the Cal Poly grads can look forward to employment at Paradise U, or the local prison. But they probably have avocados in both cafeterias!

Getting Wichita State is a death sentence though. I don't think the committee could resist potentially having those two stories overlap.

It's strange, isn't it? We're the institution located in paradise, with everything to offer our students, while Wichita State is a middle-of-nowhere school in a middle-of-nowhere state. Yet Wichita State is a juggernaut in basketball, while we're just happy to be here.

If Wichita State can become a big winner with so little history, Poly surely can as well. Get on it, Oberhelman.

I'm pretty amazed that Cal Poly has a message board.

Yup. California is a much better football recruiting area than basketball. The midwest as a basketball recruiting area is much stronger.

                    Winner
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take....

.....but, statistically speaking, you miss 99% of the shots you do take.

I realize "you are what your record says you are" but I am of the opinion Poly is no pushover if they get past Texas Southern.

We have more wins than they do combined.

That is a stat of the day if I've ever heard of one. That has to be a first.

Cal Poly grads can look forward to lucrative careers in Silicon Valley. We have many cards to play against Cal Poly, but relative grad success is not one of them.

I used to live right outside San Jose and had a couple friends go to Cal poly. It is a pretty nice area and such. Sports... not sure they even participated in anything. How dare some team/univeristy from Kansas be good or a good place to live? We don't have beach's or mom and dads range rovers...

Everything isn't better in California, take that from a former resident.

So basically it's Terre Haute, California?
