  • Play In Game: Cal Poly versus Texas Southern

They play Wednesday at 6:40 pm EST.

Cal Poly (13-19) or Texas Southern (19-14).

Anyone have any scoop or do we just root for Cal Poly with the upset?

Did my initial research...Texas Southern lost at Texas Tech by nearly 20. I'll take it one game at a time, but it's safe to say I'm not too worried.

I'm fine with whoever you want to cheer for, just want their game to be entertaining. I always love the underdog story of a team making their first ever NCAA appearance (Cal Poly). I don't know much about either, so all I have about Texas Southern is that they're coached by former Indiana and UAB coach Mike Davis.

            KenPom:
            Texas Southern #237
            Cal Poly #173

            LRMC:
            Cal Poly #159
            Texas Southern #211

            I'd say go Texas Southern.

It doesn't matter which team wins. That's going to hurt our RPI.

Are we really asking the question who to play. We are in trouble if we are worried about the number 16 seed. Take one game at a time and play angry.

Who would be worried? I just want the team we'll be able to rest the most against. We've got UK or Kansas State two days later. Easiest opponent possible, rest a good chunk of the second half, and take it to whichever team has to hopefully win a dog fight.

It's a 16 seed for crying out laud.

I remember a 16 seed pushing Gonzaga all game before they played us.

Every game from here on our could be the last of this incredible season. I'm going to savor every last second.

Yes, but not bad as we will only have to play them once on a neutral court.

Plus we had to Play Evansville (RPI #213) three times, Bradley (RPI #265) twice and Loyola-Chicago (RPI #288) twice.

Yep. Look what happened to the Zags last year in their first round trouble. Where we had a pretty easy go in the first round.

We need to roll whoever we play.
