Simon is a FRESHMAN and sometimes plays like one. He is also supposed to milk the clock as much as possible and then make something happen. Not the easiest thing to do.

Oh my goodness! Lol. We have two walk ons (a frosh and RS frosh) at the end of our bench. Walk ons. They're only getting into the game because we redshirted two scholarship freshman who will contribute in the future. I don't understand people hating on the walk ons. They're underclass men walk ons. They aren't supposed to be good.

I don't think I know you but I want to share a bourbon with you some day. JRS and ZB are on this squad to help the top 8-9 players work on their game throughout the week and make them better. If they get in a game, their job is to run the clock to zero, not extend a lead or satisfy my bloodlust. Those minutes are their reward for sacrificing whatever career they could of had at at some other program at whatever level. I can only imagine the pride they must feel to be part of this amazing run and I for one am proud to call them Shockers.

JR does have some great connections with some great Shocker supporters which has been detailed here in the past. From all accounts he is a very fine young man. When he arrived late in the game (I think it was on Senior night) after returning from attending his best friend's funeral in OKC you could see his teammates love him.

Zach probably should have stuck with Washburn and I am not real sure about his reasons for wanting to walk-on but again his teammates seem to love him.

Neither of these guys were recruited to be key in-game contributors. We won the game by 25 points. I don't see Coach Marshall and the team hanging their heads about not be able to run up the score. We got our key players out of harms way and gave them some nice rest. All is good.

I don't think I have ever seen a basketball with better team chemistry than this Shocker team and J.R. and Zach are an integral part of that fabric.

If that's a big problem for you @Zubcut than so be it. You are entitled. But IMHO that casts more of a shadow over you than it does over J.R. and Zach.

I would bet that Simon and Bush earn every second of playing time. Can you imagine trying to get through a practice playing against Lufile, or Baker, or Wessel? As CLE said, they don't get fouls called in practice. The walk-ons probably take a pounding every single day.

They absolutely do take a pounding with everyone else, and EVERY SINGLE player on that roster earns every second they get, and has earned the respect of every single other player on that roster.

All that matters at the end of the day is the question Coach has asked after every game: "Did we get that dub?"

Not ashamed at all and I never said he was accepted only because of his connections. He obviously has enough ability to satisfy Coach Marshall. His connections gave him the inside track. He's a walk-on. He is not a scholarship player. Get over it. You might want to put the shovel down although I think you may have already dug a hole deeper than you can climb out of. Then by all means have them walk on...I don't believe there is a limit to how many walk on's we have ..otherwise stfu and enjoy the ride
