Said so much better and clearly than what I tried to convey, although I don't want @Zubcut: to kill himself. Castration maybe.

I love it when J.R. and Zach are inserted into the game. That, so far, has always been a great sign. Thought Zach was going to drain that 3-pointer tonight. He didn't miss it by much. That would have been a beautiful thing.

ST. LOUIS -- The best and maybe only chance of someone knocking off Wichita State in the early rounds of the Missouri Valley Conference tournament would have involved the Shockers seizing up from the pressure of remaining undefeated.

Some of their spurts against Missouri State would have made those old Runnin’ Rebels proud. Wichita State went on a 17-0 run during the first half and then eclipsed that with a 24-0 blitzkrieg during a nine-minute second-half span.
Not sure what happened to Keith Pickens, although I know he has continually battled injuries during his career, but he only played 3 minutes and Jamar Gulley only played 14 minutes after eating taking a blow to the jaw or side of the head. But without those two guys, clearly the heart and soul of this MSU team, the Bears were simply defenseless in the face of what the Shocker's weapons.

I sure hope Gulley is not hurt too seriously, maybe a mild concussion or something like that. Hopefully, he and Pickens will be available to the Bears for any post-season play opportunities they have.

I hope the same scenario exists tomorrow, but Wessel and company make a 3 or two so the crowd can show their appreciation.

I'm thinking Zach sorta likes sitting at the end of the bench of a National Title Contender. And I agree that it sure seems the rest of the team has a lotta love for both JRS and Zach.

          • Better intro video, better band, cuter cheerleaders, way noisier fans, and the team and coaches delivered a beatdown to the only team to take us to overtime this season. What a great game!

You really think he'd trade the experience and memories of the Final Four last year and a record breaking 33-0 win streak (so far) for playing at Washburn?

              Nah, I didn't think you did. :)

I don't think I know you but I want to share a bourbon with you some day. JRS and ZB are on this squad to help the top 8-9 players work on their game throughout the week and make them better. If they get in a game, their job is to run the clock to zero, not extend a lead or satisfy my bloodlust. Those minutes are their reward for sacrificing whatever career they could of had at at some other program at whatever level. I can only imagine the pride they must feel to be part of this amazing run and I for one am proud to call them Shockers.
One quick note before we present the rankings: With Wichita State’s move to the American Athletic Conference, the Shockers have moved out of the mid-major club. We wish the Shockers well against Cincinnati, UConn, SMU, and more.

                  • This beatdown just proves how big of an aberration that game was in Springfield. Granted, MSU had Marshall, but both games without him have been COMPLETE ass beatings.

                    ... No really, deuces.

                    • The Shox are peaking at the right time. They are playing better now than they have any time during the year.

The end of the bench doesn't run WSU's game. They run the OPPONENT'S game so the prime-time players can see what they will be playing against. When those guys get in, they are not running an offense they've practiced, so don't rag them for not running it well.

With the extended minutes the end of the bench has been getting lately, I haven't seen any of them making an argument for getting more mintes. This mostly applies to Green.

Today, Green was not running the same offensive patterns as the rest of the team. He wasn't where he was supposed to be repeatedly. He was getting open by going out well beyond the 3-point line, but then he was shooting (and missing) when he got the ball out there. That's not what he needs to be doing if he expects more time on the court.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

I just got home from the game and here are a few of my thoughts:

The last time I saw the Shocks was at the MSU game and before that at the CBI. The improvement is night and day. What a fun team to watch. I am going to go ahead and make my reservations for Dallas.

It was great to see some of my friends from Wichita and meet a couple of SN'rs.

The best thing the Bears have going is the Sugar Bears

It's going be a long summer for my MSU friends - I'm going to make sure it is.

Here! Here! They are almost as talented as the Shockers in basketball. While they have many attributes a superficial man, such as me, would find appealing, they can flat dance.

I hear ya hummin', loud and clear.

I'm also a fan of the Bears band. They're no Shocker sound, but they are entertaining.

Great point. They will soon find out.

Oh my goodness! Lol. We have two walk ons (a frosh and RS frosh) at the end of our bench. Walk ons. They're only getting into the game because we redshirted two scholarship freshman who will contribute in the future. I don't understand people hating on the walk ons. They're underclass men walk ons. They aren't supposed to be good.
