I'm glad I'm not the only one who caught that.

Shockers were the top three vote-getters in All-MVC voting. WSU didn't need the tie at No. 6 to get three on first team.

Looks like Tekele might get to be on the cover of SI again (according to Paul's twitter).

Maybe that will take the stung out of being snubbed for 1st team.

WSU might be on another SI cover. Shoot was Tuesday morning. Marshall wanted the players to draw straws. Early said to let Cotton do it

            Gotta loves these guys.

I know it's easy for guys to get along when they're 31-0, but this team is special for a lot of reasons.

No issues with the selection, except maybe Balentine on first team. It was mentioned that this is the first time since 1973 (41 years) that a trio has made first team, and that was when they had 10 first teamers! Impressive!!!

This probably belongs in the coach's show topic, but I'm putting it here. Did any one catch MK's recount of his discussion with ESPN's Sean Farnham? Farnham said he has mostly done ACC and, I think, SEC games this year. He always tries to catch a Friday practice at whichever school he's doing the Saturday game. He said that until he watched WSU's practice he'd never seen one where the coach didn't have to yell, "pay attention, this is important." He'd also never seen a program where everyone respects everyone else, right down to how players treat the team managers.

This program is special in so many ways.

Yes, I definitely caught that and thought it was way cool, but not surprising from what we know of our Shocks.

What is also impressive is the only other time 3 players made the 5 man squad from the same school was in 1946 and 1951, Oklahoma State both times. If I remember correctly they won the national title in 1946.

I have a gripe about Cotton not making first team. But I guess this just proves that Seth Tuttle is, in fact, a top all-time Valley player. Kudos to the color commentator who fired that gem out.

The defensive team is also problematic. It should read:

                            Cotton
                            Cotton
                            Cotton
                            Cotton
                            Gregg Marshall

Of course, Marshall is on the list because he is constantly on the defensive in press conferences about the fact we apparently won 31 games where the other team was staffed with junior high school players, some of whom may or may not have been developmentally challenged. At least that's what I garner from reading the comments on ESPN. I think Marshall's done an admirable job with that.

If Cotton is not defensive player of the year, we should burn the MVC offices down.

I now realize my effusive praise of Cotton is semi-creepy, but the points still stand.

You definitely are semi-creepy. :tongue-new: However, your effusive praise of Cotton is not in the least bit creepy.
