I had one heck of a debate with an NC State fan about how wichita state is a joke cause they havent played anybody and I really learned alot about the mentality of these people.... Losing to good teams may boost your rpi but you are not a good team because of it. NC State lays down for Duke and UNC and now Syracuse and Pitt.... and they come out of it with a 50 rpi every year... and probably make the tourney, cause of SOS, then they abruptly lose in the tourney.

I think back to that seton hall team we beat by 34 in Greensboro, that team was the last team in from the big east had something like 10 loses and were honestly absolutely awful and I think most teams in the valley could have beaten them handidly that year. Albeit the valley was much better.

What id really like to know from all the haters out there, if any team can play in a crap conference and go undefeated easily, why have only 15 teams gone 29 and 0 in ncaa history?

Let em hate. This season is working out perfect. At first it worried me that we would get a big head, but all these haters wanna let us keep that chip on our shoulder. :)

Agree. Funny to see stoic Cotton and Baker jumping around like freaks. They are all pulling for each other. I love it.

I hope you mean "had one heck of a debate" because you put him in his place...directly in the garbage can.

Their best win all season, in or out of conference, is Tennessee (our 3rd best win). They lost at home to North Carolina Central, in OT, by 10 points....we beat them by 11. They have beat no one ahead of them in their league (NC St is in 7th place). They're struggling to stay in the top 60 RPI and are projected to fall just below 70. Their good overall SOS of 45-50 means nothing if you don't do anything positive with it. Ask Alabama and their #4 SOS.

So I just don't understand the hate. I know that all the analysts don't take the time to look at the logistics behind our scheduling, but if they did, they would see that we were already locked into some of these RPI bottom feeder games, and maybe there wouldn't be so much questioning of our schedule. I don't know.

Our nonconference schedule is ranked 38th in the country. I think if things had broke in our favor the way we expected going into the season, we could have been as high as 20th. But regardless, we're not being attacked for 38th. We played tougher noncon schedules than most ranked teams, with the obvious exception of Kansas, Florida, Duke, Wisconsin, etc.

We're being attacked for the Valley season. And it doesn't matter what our noncon was like, it only matters who we're playing now to most of these folks.
