But can she ball fake like Barry's wife?

Shox win big. Scrubs give up 6 points if a 20 point lead.
I had season FOOTBALL tix... did you?

My only worry at times like this isn't if the Shockers are capable...or prepared...or focused. They are. But sometimes the least capable team on paper becomes the bugaboo. TCU over KU last year......Appalachian State over Michigan in football...

Frankly, I'm MUCH more worried about Loyola than UNI.

Missourah State was close to the LO game but we came back and won. Last night, we certainly nailed suckiness but fortunately were inconsistent in that regard. Is this the proverbial "trap" game that we all should have seen coming in 20-20 hindsight? Due to the UNI injury situation, I think not therefore I am saying we win this game.
I'll admit Wednesday night's game had me on the edge of my seat (sometimes pacing the floor as well, much like I did for those final seven minutes of last year's Gonzaga game), but I don't think it was all about the Shox having a sucky game as much as it was the game plan and execution by Indiana State. I was really bummed about Fred's seemingly lack of shot clock awareness but as other SNers have pointed out, Indy St did a great job of blocking the lanes on him.

And I also think Ron's offense suffered once he switched over to guard Arop. I'll gladly take the win over Ron having good offensive numbers for a game but would much rather see Ron Baker the Basket Maker shooting those threes instead of Tekele and have Mr. Cotton get back to his usual defensive prowess.

I don't think this team will overlook UNI but as we all know, the ball can bounce in odd directions.

Mr. Cotton defended Odum and the results are more than acceptable, 11 pts on 5 of 12; 1 of 3 from three, 4 assists and 1 turnover and ZERO free throws.

I'd rather have Cle scoring than guarding Arop, too.

It may be that InSu decided to let the other Shocks beat them and not let FVV be the guy to beat them. I would imagine that the Shocks will work on a couple of new wrinkles for their offense if other teams try to take FVV out of the game. Lord knows I hope so anyway.

Good News. UNI looks to be nearly sold out but no one on their board has deemed this game important enough to start a thread on it. Oh it is going to be a "Purple Out" and I think Barney is supposed to make a guest appearance.

I predict we play one half of great basketball & one half of mediocre basketball ... and still win by double digits: 74 - 61

Balantine is on Evansville. Doyle is Loyola's main scorer. Both of those games are dangerous if we don't play well since both of those guys are capable of big games.

The same Loyola team that lost to Bradley at home 54-63 last night or do you mean Evansville, the team that D.J. Balentine plays for. Of course, Evansville lost at home to MSU 54-66 Wednesday night holding Balentine to 11 points on 4-15 shooting.

UNI generally plays well at home. We will have another best crowd since I can remember game to deal with. Plus UNI is the next game on the schedule. UNI is the team to worry about for now.

What's LOLoyola's Super Bowl crowd going to end up being? A new facility record of 1,250, and wear an article of clothing with a LUC team logo on it, if you actually have such a thing in your wardrobe? The atmosphere will be like playing Wichita East High School, with an additional 750 miles of travel.

We've known since the git-go that every team will play their best against us so this will not surprise our players or coaches.

Have a feeling we will come out strong at first, but then settle down to a mediocre performance for the rest of the 1st half.

We will start the second half strong as well, then turn it up even more and coast along with a 15-20 point lead until GM puts the reserves in during the last 2-3 minutes.

Seth Turtle is going to "career it" for 10 points and 6 rebounds

                                :)
