This. You want to hurt the Goob? Just switch him off. He doesn't care about us one way or the other, he doesn't care about the game, he cares about ratings. I finally unfollowed him on Twitter about a month ago because I realized, "This guy isn't adding anything to these discussions, and he openly trolls. Why am I following him?"

Any good points on his show are brought up by Seth Davis anyway.

Does it really matter (to guys like Gottlieb and *******) whether they are right or wrong? They don't get paid for being right? They get paid for attracting attention so that their employers can sell advertising. Or am I missing the business model of what they do.

If that is the case then wouldn't the best way to hurt these guys would be to totally ignore them? Of course, I'm not sure how much of an impact Shocker Nation can have and I suppose it is more fun to argue with them.

This is true in the short term. In the long term, CBS gains a reputation as having no one knowledgeable about basketball on staff, and people quit using them as a source. He isn't just wrong about WSU. He's completely unable to analyze college basketball.

There is a difference between disagreeing for the sake of argument/viewership, and always being wrong because you don't have a clue what you are talking about. Gottlieb is the latter.
