Any way, if the closest seat directly behind the basket is 15' from the court and the closest seat at half court is 37', if we lower the court 10', wont they now be 25' and 47' away from the court respectively?
and if we lowered the court 30 feet, then what?

Well, then I think you create some riser-seating and squeeze it what ever the Fire Marshall says you can safely have in there.

Recall going to quite a few games at Levitt and sat in the chairs on the court. To be honest, the view isnt that great with people and a scores table.

Agree, that is why you need the risers.

Yes, but a contractor (non-engineer) veered away from the engineer's design in the Hyatt and the original engineer didn't analyze the change request. So basically the walkway collapsed due to lack of engineering.

I think it would look cool to paint the ceiling black and the beams yellow.

Better then the plain-jane color it currently is.

The way I see it they would be sqrt( 15^2 + 10^2) = 18'. The distance of the seats are now the hypotenuse of the triangle with a base leg of the original 15' and the opposite leg which is 10' above the new floor level. What you did do is add additional height which lets you add one or more new rows in front of the older rows that were 15' away.

Exactly, But "What... is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow?"

Okay and just so we are clear, if my plan to lower the floor cause Koch to collapse or if causes Koch to shoot two miles in the air then explode, then I am against it. No collapses or explosions. Period.

Average cruising speed is approximately 24 miles per hour. Duh.

Now there's an idea I like, Shurtz. Until now, I was wondering whether somehow you wanted it even louder than it is already.

Did you just ask in code how fast she can swallow?
