[QUOTE=wushock27;451349]Well if it does move, then I guess I won't be able to make the trip because 9 hours is a little long of a drive for me....
Before you think of how easy this makes things for you, think about the fans who DON'T live in Wichita OR Kansas...[/QUOTE

Let's see, base the decision on the needs of a few or the needs of many. Hmmm?
One quick note before we present the rankings: With Wichita State’s move to the American Athletic Conference, the Shockers have moved out of the mid-major club. We wish the Shockers well against Cincinnati, UConn, SMU, and more.

Ahh, so now only fans in Wichita matter??

For the record, I'm being sarcastic...

I didn't recognize the font, sorry. I have made the trip to SL several times for the tourney, it's my turn to be catered to.

Thank god you aren't making the decision then...

And for the record, I went to the Valley tourney last year and drove to STL for the SLU game this year. I just don't like going there, especially if KC is the other option.

I understand why you would want it in your backyard, but at the end of the day, they have to think about ALL the fans, not just the ones in Kansas...

You know they will reach out to Chicago since four of the universities are in Illinois. That is a day drive from Wichita, but there are direct flights to Chicago from ICT.

You're right. Hey guys, can't move the MVC tournament to KC. Wushock27 would have to drive 3 more hours. You hear that, additional 4,000 WSU fans that would drive to KC but not to St. Louis?
The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

Wow, just because I offer a perspective different than the one you want, you choose to attack...
Sorry that instead of offering a central location that the majority of fans can travel easier to you want to make it difficult for them to cheer on their school!!

And to add to your comment...
It would be over an 8 hour drive to KC for me as opposed to a 4 hour one, which is the same amount of time it would roughly take you to get to STL if I'm correct... Instead of making it reachable for a larger area of fans, you would prefer to limit it to a few states instead??

I'm not going to pick on an individual poster, however this seems appropriate...

                          I love that movie!! :)
My point is this... If a conference was trying to accommodate a specific fan base, they would just move it as close as they can... But they don't.
If that was the case, they should move the SEC tournament to Louisville so all the KY fans can watch the wildcats close to home... But again, they don't

It has nothing to do with catering to a fan base, it has to do with making the most money. This is the problem with the Valley, they're more concerned with fairness instead of what's best for the conference.

More than 5 non-UK fans attend the SEC tournament.

So why do they call it "Cat-lanta" then?? I would say that around 60% or more of the fans that show up are Kentucky fans...
