Not yet. The MVC is putting out an RFP after this year. Fescoe just sprouted wood and assumed KC would get it.

He wasn't assuming that. He was just hyped about the possibility of having the Valley, B12, and NCAA tourneys running back to back to back. He said he knows people who work for the Valley who were blown away last year when the Valley hosted the NCAA regional in KC.

Why not make it like the baseball tournament? Let's have it in Wichita for 20 consecutive years and then start moving it around.

I think we should make a statement in STL. Show the Valley we mean business. I mean, really, even with a good MSU and Bradley program, how many people not from Creighton or Wichita State go to the MVC Tourney in STL?

How many MORE Shocker fans would drive up to KC for the tournament?

Go to STL. Support our team. Support STL. Don't spend a DIME at the arena. Don't buy pop. Don't buy nachos. Don't buy hot dogs. Hit them where it hurts. Show them the power of ShockerNation.

They don't sell pop in St. Louis. They sell soda. And children don't go down the slipper slide or slide on the playvround. They go down the sliding board.. :-)

The differences in amenities and atmosphere in and around the Scottrade Center and the Sprint Center are significant.

Around the Scottrade Center, you have Union Station, which is really just a low-rent mall and a tourist trap. You also have a few bars scattered amongst a dead, vacant downtown. If you are lucky, you can witness and undercover cop try to buy drugs off of another undercover cop. You have about a mile walk to the hotels. The hotels are located right next to Lacledes Landing, which is a cool place to go drink, but the restaraunts are hit and miss. Within about a short drive, you have the casinos and strip clubs across the river. Within a slightly longer drive, you have the Hill for good Italian food. I will admit my knowledge of other things in the St. Louis area is lacking, but those are what I have seen or heard about when I have gone to the tournament.

Around the Sprint Center, you have PNL immediately adjacent. Normally, PNL is full of cheesedicks and douchebags, but large events will fill up the bars and restaraunts with their crowd. So, in the case of a Kansas City MVC tournament, it would be a bunch of cheesedicks and douchebags plus 7,000 people wearing yellow. You also have a short walk to several hotels. A slightly longer walk will get you into the River Market for a few more bars and restaraunts, including some Italian joints with just as much history as the Hill. A short drive will get you to Crossroads, a slightly longer drive will get you to Westport and the Plaza. Casinos are a short distance away as well.

From the MVC's perspective, they have to look at WSU's attendance figures for the CBE tournament. Didn't we get around 7,000 people there? And what do we draw to Arch Madness? I think the most ever was 2,500, maybe 3,000? So I believe the increase in WSU fans would far outweigh the decrease in all the other Valley fans not wanting to make the drive.

I understand the douchebags, but what is a cheesedick? Also, are there any douchenozzles, chuckleheads or asswipes in the PNL? What about ass hats and Poindexters?
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

Creighton is no longer in the Valley.

Also, Kansas City being in the middle of the country, I'm wondering about which sub species of douchebag is native, the Great Eastern Douchebag, or the Lesser Western Douchebag. It makes a big difference if you should cross paths with one without means of easy escape.
