And you see why I mentioned they're the most delusional fan base in college basketball. They truly are on a whole different level.

Nothing against IlSU, but it's hard to have a MoVal rival nearly 600 miles away and/or lack of competitive parity.
Tulsa, Omaha, Springfield all produce the geography proximity and certainly Creighton and Tulsa provided some great competition in football and basketball, with Dogpatch in baseball.
Normal is more aligned with Peoria. There's potential with IlSU, but simply not enough history.

The things people can convince themselves of in sports is just hilarious to me.

I think that the Sheriffs office should have looked into this as an assault.

It is clear he went above and beyond a baketball move, and intended to inflict harm on another person. That is a crime. But apparently, being "thug" is IlSU is part of requirements to be on the team.

            *sarcasm alert*

The first post. It was good. I give it a 4/10. Clearly going for the sarcasm.

The second post. That was a winner. 10/10. I think he honestly believes it. The sarcasm of the first post goes completely over his head.

This will be a close game decided in the last minute by less than 5 points. Good guys win.

I look for someone being baited into a fight, a few hard fouls, a breeze directed at whatever basket we are shooting at, our coaches getting "over the top" berated by their students, helium in the basketball, a slick floor on the end we play offense, and whatever other bush league stuff you can think of.

Combine that will a little moxie they're likely to have after a 4-2 start (and frankly should be 5-1) and this fan is going to be nervous until the final buzzer, regardless of the score.
I was a little worried about this until I remembered that it was under Jank when they were actually trying this stuff. Also, Muller did a pretty good job of sitting there and taking it in the game in Wichita. They didn't approach anything dirty in the St. Louis game last year, which was probably much more likely.

I'm not a fan of a lot of the things that have gone on, or the way Muller decided to build a program, but the results so far this year are of a guy whose plan is working a little bit.

According to ESPN, the game will be on ESPN3. I don't know if it will be blacked out in the Wichita area though.

It's blacked out in Kansas and Missouri.

The Redbirds will come out fired up but the Shockers will whether their initial storm and after about 10-15 minutes the Shockers will take control and cruise to a fairly easy win.

                              United States - 94
                              North Korea - 32

And before anyone gets butthurt over the North Korea comparison, I'm only using it as an analogy to indicate that some little podunk is trying to talk trash and act big to a super power. They will never be anything more than a minor annoyance to us.

                                1. I couldn't care less who Kung Foed who, or which coach whines, or well....whatever. Water under the bridge. Not my concern. That's why both teams have coaches.
                                2. I tend to root for the Shockers...strange since this is the board I post on.
                                3. I really like for the Shockers to perform well.
                                4. Towards that end, I have a few things I would like to see the team do better as a progression through this season.
                                5. Illinois State is simply the next game on the schedule in which the Shockers have the opportunity to display publicly if they are making these progressions.
                                6. Regardless of your like or distain for other coaches, players etc., they all play or coach D-1 basketball which is better than 99.9% of us.
                                7. Odd things happen in basketball. Good teams play poorly some nights, and other teams set the world on fire on others. Never get too high or too low.
                                8. I am not going to waste my time and energy acting like a little kid pointing fingers at others and running my mouth and making bragadocious comments on things I have never directly been involved in or contributed to .
                                9. Notice I have never said "WE", 'cause I don't get to suit up.
                                10. This is a prediction thread. Towards that end, the Shockers have been solid on defense except the enfeugo perfromance from MSU in the first half.
