There are special players 1-4 (starting to look like 1-5) and you keep those players out on the floor. It isn't as much because 6-10 are worse than in previous seasons, it's because 1-5 are so much better.
Excellent analysis of the current bench situation! Now guys need to start hitting shots.

      • From what I can see, the scary/good part about this team, is that there's a ton of room for improvement. There is no doubt in my mind that Wessel will find his shot. If I was him I would be so frustrated that I would be in the gym 24/7 till I got it back and I'm sure he's doing that. Wiggins needs to attack more and keep hitting shots. Lufile was playing pretty good until DC started playing like a beast and took all of his minutes, and Coleby right now looks like he doesn't even wanna play. They all just need to keep improving and like I said there's a lot of room for that. I can't wait until everyone plays their best game 😃 (hopefully it's in the 2014 NCAA Championship game)

Steve K. was a rough, tough customer. Very physical.

              • I spent most of the game thinking the Shocks weren't playing, or especially shooting, that well -- way too many misses, including FTs, and too many open three for Davidson. But I was never worried that they'd lose.

Coming into the season, the idea that WSU would be 13-0 at this point never crossed my mind. I expected 2-3 losses by now. But having seen the Shocks in action, I'm not surprised anymore except by how good they are -- and yet there's still obvious room for improvement.

I just hope Baker gets a chance to rest his ankle soon and isn't hampered by it all season. My NBA favorites, the Spurs, routinely rest their old guys (Duncan and Ginobili) in the second half of back-to-backs, and they often win anyway -- recently they beat the Warriors, a respectable team on the road with Duncan, Ginobili, and Parker ALL sitting out. I'd love to see Baker sit a game or even two, especially at home, in situations where they figure to win over a lesser conference anyway. At least start with him on the bench and try to avoid playing him unless it becomes absolutely necessary. I don't think it's likely to happen, unfortunately, but I sure wish it would, because a healthy Baker could be a key ingredient in not just getting back to the Final Four this year, but also taking the next step once there.

                          • Didn't see him either until I watched the replay of the game. I think it should be a policy that when a past player is spotted in the house, he should be acknowledged on the video board as well as by the announcer. The camera man is the one who saw him but I don't remember seeing it on the video board.
