    And that's the ultimate question. Do you reward efficiency--winning more titles in fewer appearances--or do you reward longevity even if it means fewer trophies? There has to be a balance between the two extremes, but I don't know where that is.

        Maybe a calculation could be made of ranking in the final AP poll every year (assign a value of 35 for years not listed in the "others receiving votes") and calculate the per year average rank and order the schools accordingly. oops, someone has done it already: http://www.collegepollarchive.com/mb...m#.UrNEaydiV0o
